got banned just bcuz i asked how to handle a dmg file?

ok wtf in wrong with EVILL ! I asked how to handle a .dmg file . Evill got on my case and start a little investigation. He asked what was the file name...file size... so I responded, " so now I need to tell you everything, what type of privacy is that". and BAAAAAMMMMMM!

Can some one please tell me why I deserved a 60 min ban for that?
And ADMINs do respond by telling me it?s associated with illegal stuff.

Just thought I'd throw this in because it seems that it belongs here and has been pissing me off for a while. Why aren't people allowed to come here a bitch about being ban? This is a forum that is greatly associated with GameRanger, and bans are as well, maybe not every little 30 minute one, but generaly you should be able to post when you get ban. My guess, is that Evill was just in one of his moods. - Just feel lucky you only got 60.

thx for the reply, but i have one question...... why does he do this to the people that support  GR (clients)? I would wonder if the game developing companies would know that the owner of GR acted so viscously, would they still make a contract with GameRanger?? He is ruining the integrity of GR?!

Get over yourself.  The game developing companies love that he is so protective against pirates.  GR can only help the sale of games for them, not hurt it.  

And he's not hurting the integrity of GR, he's trying to protect the iintegrity of GR.  If GR has the reputation of a bunch of warezing whores, then the game developers wouldn't like it at all.

And you aren't a GR supporter, you are a user.  You aren't supporting anything unless you are contributing to it in some way.  So unless you are helping out or making payments, you aren't supporting it.

And why are you making such a big fuss over a 60 minute ban anyway?

Oh, and he's probably right.  If you have a .dmg file, and you don't know how to use it, then it's probably warez.  You are probably trying to copy something like Ghost Recon on an OS9 computer.  .dmg files are disc images for OSX.  All you do is double click them or drag them to the disk copy utility.

Look u dumb fucks that say its Warez..... its a bunch of loops in mp3 formatt that im trying to open.....now  I tried to double click in OS X already...so if you really know what YOU are doing, you would know how to handle that! (cause i dont!)

Assuming that you are under OS 9.x, Disk Copy 6.5 should be able to take care of most .dmg files. You should be able to get it here:

Hey j47, I think you could have just answered his fucking questions.  You weren't guarenteed the right to privacy when you signed up for Gameranger so I don't know why you think you can fight for rights here, when so many people have tried including myself.  Just tell him what the fuck you need it for, what could be so private if your aren't pirating?  You're luck you only got an hour.

And even if you are pirating, you could just make up any lie. BTW, sometimes diskcopy can't handle .dmg files, so theres this app online somewhere that allows it to do handle it. (someone on GR said that)

hmm, diskcopy in os x i believe handles every .dmg file

however, i don't see why you would have gotten banned for asking how to use a .dmg file.  Apple only included it with OS X so how would that make it illegal  I'd like to see your original context though along with Evill's original questions, that would probably take care of this thread.
