Sigma the first DX9 CArd released will be RAdeon 9700! not NVIDIA FX.
I disagree. The Radeon 9700 is not fully DX9 compliant, because the DX9 protocol has not been finished. Once it is, there might be a firmware update, but most likely a new card. If you can show me that I am wrong, please do.

Radeon 9700Pro
Fastest* 3D gaming performance with next-generation VPU architecture
Complete DirectX? 9.0 support for unprecedented realism and sophisticated visual effects

I would think that this would mean that the Radeon 9700Pro is a DX9 card, but seeing I mostly follow the Mac side of hardware and just skim over what's available for PCs, I'm not sure.

Typhy:
As far as the Radeon 9700Pro ever coming to a portable, I'd say not likely because it draws a hell of a lot of power and would not work very well in a portable.

hey the Nvidia Chip is also ready too, so it will also not have full DX9 support as ATI has. They will both have to be updated. And most feautures for DX9 are already ready - and some testversion of DX9 are already avaible for testing

You might be right there... I will look in to it further and get back to you because I really think that the Radeon 9700 Pro is not DX9 compliant because DX9 isn't out... I'll check around however Smiley
