$1800 from apple, lol

So I was messin around at apple website and applied for a loan, they gave me 1800...lol...I never thought I would get approved, so now what should I buy? Jeb, or Assassin, how is this money best spent in accordance to future gaming?

    For best longevity in gaming, and less expensive investment, I'd say to either get a dual 867 or dual 1GHz and upgrade the graphics card. They have many advantages over an iMac. First off, you're not locked into a specific monitor size. Second, you're not locked into a specific graphics card. Third, they are easily upgradable a year or two down the road. The dual 867 definitely offer the most bang for the buck of any Apple computer.

i'd recomend buying a base G4 tower and upgrading the graphics card. It would be wise to also upgrade the memory to at least 512megs, it will help 10.2s performance a whole lot.

A imac would even suit your needs for GHR, but the tower is so much better because you can upgrade the hell out of it.

alrighty, I just ordered a Dual 867 with the 512ram upgrade and the ATI 9000 video card upgrade, I hope this is worth my money...now all I need is a monitor...lol, hopefully I can find a cheap one somewhere in the next 3-5 days it takes to ship...

i woulda recomended that you bought ram from a outside source rather than apple. For the price you paid for the 512megs you probly could have gotten a gig off ramseaker.com, oh well it will be a solid computer non the less

    As far as the ram goes, it only cost $40 to get an extra 256MB in the Dual 867, and the loan can be paid back within 6 months same as cash. I should know because I work for the Apple Store.


   But Kilzo, that was the best way to spend your money. As for the monitor, go to either your local computer retailer or http://www.pricescan.com and get an inexpensive CRT monitor (19" or larger).
