Well, with all this talk of StarWars: AOTC I thought I would show you some hard work done by some truly l33t programmers.
All you need to do is type: "telnet towel.blinkenlights.nl" in the Mac OS X Terminal and sit back and watch the show. Okay, this is
definitely
an advantage over all the Mac OS 9 users.

The l33t language wasn't adopted by hackers, it was simply a mix of letters and numbers that looked like letters. Hackers really have nothing to do with l33t languages. Of course the use of 3 as a e is probably the most popular use of l33t language.
...And of course there is certain kinds of hacking. I suppose going into detail about these kinds of hacking would get me into some sort of trouble, so I shall stop here.
No more flame bait, lam3r.

ASCI speak is for script kiddies, not hackers. Writing a VBA script to drop e-mail bombs and such is not hacking. They are kidding themselves and write like that to try to impress their friends. People that write in ASCI are laughed off all the true Hacker BBS's I've ever been to.
BTW, anyone attending MackHack this year?

MacHack isn't the real world? Said by yet another person that has no idea what they are talking about.
MacHack isn't about intrusion hacking, BTW. Not like DefCon. MacHack is about hacking together new programs for the Mac. It's been around for 17 years. Woz was one of the keynote speakers last year.

A Telnet client would probably work, don't take my word for it. I will ask the guy who told me about it.

Sorry Asterax... I actually will be speaking at another development conference that week (I wouldn't normally go, but 1. I was asked to speak, which is huge for my career and 2. it's at Disney World... who can pass up a chance to stay at Disney World all expenses paid.
But I'll see if anyone I know is going this year.

Sounds cool, if you actually got someone to tape the whole MacHack expo, and released it onto the *DAMN, that would get some hits.

I'll write them and see what the rules are regarding copyrights... since they charge $500 to attend, they may frown on reproducing the conference.... but maybe the Keynote and such would be ok. I'll ask in any case.
