Another resaon is that OS9 is more stable than OS X which crashes sometimes on my imac.
OS9 more stable than OSX???  O.o  OSX has never crashed for me once, and I've been using it for about a year now.  I can't get through one day using OS9 without crashing at least 3 times.

Cobra,

Did you read correctly?
I said it crashes sometimes onmyimac.  Overall OSX is more stable on most computers except mine, so I'm in OS9 often.

Cheers,

One ?
Yeah, I realize your comment was with regards to your iMac, it just kinda sounded surprising considering what I've experienced with each OS.

Sorry, guess I shoulda worded it differently   Grin

OSX is superior for everything except for gaming. I love the OSX user experience. It's perfect.

However, Rogue Spear requires OS9.

I have dreams of one day playing a Cocoa native Raven Shield on a dual processor Mac.

Unfortunately, the Death of OS9 is eminent, starting in January, 2003, Apple will no longer be shipping any computers with both os9 and osx installed, and they apparently have modified the g4's structure so that it cannot run os9, even if you have any os9 disks or anything. The computers shipped after that date will be osx ONLY.
No beloved Classic mode within osx either. Angry

That's mostly true Cringe, but you are a little off. First, these computers will still be able to run Classic. Second, they aren't modifying the G4 so it won't boot into OS 9, they simply won't be writing the firmware so that the new processors will support OS 9. More info is available in this press release from the Paris Expo in September.
