i must say, this game is great. all xbox owning racing fans should get it. my only complaint is that it doesnt harness the xbox full capabilities... i dont recall seeing a single bump mapped texture. bah. but on the other hand, the lighting is beautiful. now ive played a ton of gran turismos 1, 2 and 3 in my day, and the first thing i noticed about sega gt 2002 is its more fun. i dont know if its the xbox controller, or the low loading times or what, but its just damn amusing. my only suggestion to people is to change the controller setup to set b, because it makes better use of the triggers.

turn it on at 9 pm, next thing i know its 1 am and im damn hungry. anyway, i think ill squeeze in a few more races before bed..

Well, having played all the GT games and Sega GT (on the DC) I can say it wasn't even close to as good a racing game.  Maybe they improved how the cars drove for this one though.

I own a gamecube too and you should try Eternal Darkness...not for babies.
I'm supposing that Nintendo is going to try and get out of that baby game phase but they will always keep games like Zelda, Super Smash, Metroid, and Star Fox going.....

Well, it is a console FPS which like console TPS suck ass...yes this includes SOCOM and Halo as well.

But for those who like console FPS...it still isn't supposed to be great...it is getting ratings in the 7/10 range.  I don't plan on playing it though so I can't give you a better opinion.

SK, if the Gamecube was really for babies...you'd love it.
But thankfully the Gamecube is for mature people with interest in having no-frills fun...people who don't need violence to like a game.

The only thing a X-Box has going for it is graphics and they aren't that much better than the ps2s. Graphics don't make a game fun and enjoyable, look at FFX, most beautiful game i've ever played, but yet i didn't like the gameplay and i don't play the game.
The gamecube and Ps2 have so many great titles on them, when the X-Box has none. X-Box users only like their machines cause they droped alot of money on them and don't want to be proven wrong.
the only product that MS has ever made that hasn't sucked goat balls is IE, everything else ends up being subpar atempts at controlling the market share.
MS didn't even make their Flagship game halo, the bought a company because it was developing a game that was going to be good already. Without halo the x-box is nothing more than something to sell on E-Bay to get money to buy a good consol.

I have played NFL2K3 on all 3 consoles and xBox is by far the worst. I must say that I got a xBox the first week it was out and returned it the next week - the other 50 people in line and I thought it was crap then, and without a better game selection, it is still crap now.

and i didnt drop a lot of money on it, i traded in all my ps1 crap i never played anymore. someday you will all see.

Well, it is true enough that the PS2 had shit for games until June of 2001...9 months after it launched.  Pretty much the same can be said for the Xbox.  Thing is I don't see a six months where a series of games like GT3, GTA3, FFX, etc are all released.

The Gamecube is the only one which didn't have a bad first 9 months to year.  It did have a few dry months but by the end of the year there will be games like Mario, Star Fox, Metroid, Eternal Darkness, Super Smash Bros...add to that innovative games like Super Monkey Ball, Pikmin, and Animal Crossing.  And that leaves out a number of great third party titles (except SMB which I couldn't leave out).  The GCN may have had the best first year in software of any console to date.

games that are cross platofrm NEVER use the full potential of Xbox, as they are PORTS of other games, the developers only slightly improve them. It is game like HALO And PROJECT GOTHAM, that are made for xbox and ONLY for xbox that use its full potential. which blows away any other consoles.
   Sony has even ADMITTED, that the ps2 is OBSOLETE, and their online strategy is INFERIOR to that of Microsoft's.

All the good games shall come with the release of xbox live.....

Moose, of course the games made specifically for the Xbox are the best looking ones...same goes for the Gamecube.  The ports don't look that great but if you look at Resident Evil, Wave Race, Rogue Leader, and Mario it is fucking breathtaking.  The Xbox doesn't have any games that are noticibly better than the four I listed...both consoles are so close on graphics that it would be a waste of time to try to pick one.

On the other hand graphics mean officially shit in the quality of a game.  It is all about gameplay...with the factors of replay and control as subsets of that.  This is where the PS2 has its strength and the Xbox its weakness.

y'know, i was just playing a little old game that is mind numbingly addictive. I played this game for hours on end when i was a kid. hours and hours. that's right, i'm talking about Stuntcopter. Good ol' drop-the-stick-figure-onto-the-hay-cart stuntcopter. talk about a great game. mindless, very shallow, but great to distract you from your homework. and it was on Mac.

but seriously, the games make or break a system. xbox has badass graphics, but i just can't get used to any of its games control layouts. Sadly, i've never played Halo. It would have been so much better on mac.. all FPS's are... i want my mouse and keyboard!
