w00t, GTA4 is coming out in October, this is what ive heard about it so far.

. Motorcylces
. Golf carts
. Helicopters
. City is 2x size
. 40 guns instead of 12 (including mechete and chainsaw)
. 120 cars instead of 50
. Set in the 80s
. More voices
. Hollywood voices
. Character speaks
. Ammunation is a real store
. Better and more missions
. Comes out October 20th

No, GTA4 doesn't come out in October, that is GTA: Vice City...which is in the GTA3 level...not a full sequel.

Secondly, a thread about this can already be found on the second page and had new posts to it as recently as Thursday so there is no real reason to have a whole new thread about it.

geek, the graphics are going to be ok, note the lack of FOG. Its pretty typical of a X-Box using to complain about graphics since the only thing the XBox has is graphics. Grandtheft auto 3 was a near perfect game in most respects. It still has never gotten old. GTA:VC will a great game. I am a poor poor student, and i have stoped eating at fast food resterants to get money for preordering that game.
YOu also won't be seeing any of the GTA Francise going to X-Box because they have a contract with sony. Now that Halo is old, all the is Xbox seems to be, is a platform with good graphics and  a few mindless sports games.
I think bondo would agree with the fact that PS2 has quite a selection of great games, so does gamecube (aparently   ). With grand turismo 4 on the way, not to mention tony hawk pro skater 4 we all will have a few more reasons to not leave the house

I'd agree with your assessment of the Xbox...but I wouldn't go so far as to say the PS2 has a large selection of great (exclusive) games...it has some...more than Xbox certainly.

But it is clear that for the genres I like that the GCN is better.

it has more because xbox is a new system. but even the games that are out now have more then graphics. doa3, halo, bloodwake, rallisport challange.. i could play those for hours and hours and not get sick of them. and my eyes wont be sore from all the jaggies and low res grainy textures..

From the rumors i've heard the PS3 will crush anything MS can come up with right now. Its sposta be released next year at some point. MS needs to buy more gaming companys i guess. Also, you might be suprized at how small a building the XBox headquarters is.

Jeb, if Sony releases the PS3 next year, they will fail big time...they just can't release systems every 3 years and get away with it.  They will crash the market or at least their part of it.

Geek, DOA3 and Bloodwake are as mediocre as games come...Halo may be great but not on a controller.  And Rallisport is just another rally game...it isn't groundbreaking, it is just Colin McRae with great graphics and bad physics (if the stories of people getting stuck balanced on their nose are true).

the only reason ps3 was announced was because sony shit its pants when they saw the xbox stats. and halo is too good on a controller, because the analog sticks actually have some resistance to them. unlike ps2 or gamecube, you can easily choose the ammount of pressure you want to put on them. everone says FPS suck on a console, but thats just because they havnt tried one on an xbox.

i agree that bloodwake is mediocre, but i guess you have never played doa3 with other people before. once you get past the pretty graphics, it is the best fighting game since boshido blade 2. its unbelievably fun. and the extra outfits i have stored on my hard drive completely top it off...

and i did get balanced on my nose 1 time in rallysport, but other then that the game is flawless. every time i play a track, i notice something new. the level of detail is amazing.

Geek, I've played DoA2 on the DC which isn't any worse...and it is overrated to the extreme...yes it looks nice, but it is a button masher and just a shallow experience on the whole.  Graphics is the only thing it has going for it.

As for Rallisport, like I said, it is a fine game, but it isn't groundbreaking...it doesn't outclass Colin McRae or a number of other Rally games for actual racing.

The only game on the Xbox that I'd consider special is Oddworld.
