First, the Dodgers better savor it while they got it. Their imported starts (Ishii) always fail sooner or later. Not to mention shitting managing. Also, need I remind you of last time the Giants and Dodgers had a pennant race? Here's a quick recap. Bases loaded, no outs, Zeile strikes out, Murray hits into a double play. Two innings later, Brian Johnson goes back, back, back gone! to seal the pennant. (Yes there were 7 games left but it was over then.)
I'm hardly walking on thin ice. You being an ignorant Dodger fan, you ignored the one guy who has seasons to put up against what Barry Bonds did in 2001: Babe Ruth. 1921 or 1927 would definitely be right there with 2001 for Barry. I give it to Barry because he broke the home run record and slugging % record while still breaking the walks record and having the highest OBP in 100 years.
PS - Willie Mays was the greatest all-around ballplayer ever. Period.

Bah, the home run derby is really just luck. No one will debate any of those guys being more of a home run hitter than Bonds.
But about your park and team,
you guys don't have garlic fries. Suck it.
You don't have McCovey Cove. Suck it.
You don't have front row seats for however long your shitty ballpark is around. Suck it.
You don't have free standing room only in right field. Suck it.
You don't have winning seasons. Suck it.
You have Selig's daughter for an owner. Suck it.
You don't have one of the all-time greats roaming left field (or any postion for that matter). Suck it.
who the hell needs garlic fries, we get along just fine on our beer?
oh wow, we dont have a fucking waterfilled pothole, woop de fucking do
so what if we dont have front ro seats, some of our seats are closer to the batter than the pitcher.
no, but we do have seats right behind homeplate for only a dollar
who eeds a winning season, the fans still show up
what the fuck is wrong with our owner? and how does that matter?
and i belive sin already answered your last point
and you have yet to show how the park itself sucks. you are as green as the grassinsid the pak with envy and it shows.
oh yea one thing that makes miller park so much better
WE HAVE THE ALLSTAR GAME THIS YEAR!
top that one bitch

Sammy Sosa is a better home run hitter than Bonds, maybe not a better baseball player but a better home run hitter. No one has done what Sosa has the past five years.

Gotta give it to Giami though... He represented the Yankees the way he should have, by winning.

Actually, I love Comerica park. I've been to many stadiums, and so far, it's at the top of my list. Especially since they brought back real box seats again (for those of us that can remember what they were 20 years ago).
It's a great venu... now, if only we had a professional baseball team that I could go watch there....

Brain, I think your cheesehead got stuck up your ass and you have been a little off ever since. Pac Bell Park is one of the most unique, intimate, and enjoyable new parks; Miller Park is a glorified Bank One Ballpark in all reality.
GRIFT, I would really like to see Comerica. I saw Tiger Stadium the year before they tore it down. Tiger was an awesome park, just a notch below Fenway and Wrigley, hands down the two greatest ballparks ever.
Bondo, are you smoking crack again? First off, Barry Bonds last year had the lowest AB/HR ratio ever. Something like one dinger every 6-7 at bats. Even McGwire never got that close. You say no one has done what Sosa has for the past 5 years. Only 3 players in the history of the game have ever done what Barry has over his career, and he isn't even done yet. If 5 year stretches were all that matter, we would be talking about Ralph Kiner being one of the greatest players ever.
Finally, to quote Brian Sabean, FUCK THE YANKEES!

Yeah, before they put in the plastic seats, I would have put the old Tiger Stadium after Wrigley but before Fenway... it had much more class with the old wodden seats.
I'll take a snapshot from my office window for you someday Ace... I can actually see down onto both fields at the same time (just looking left or right). My office is right between the old and new stadiums... about 240 feet up.
As for Comerica... I thought I was going to hate it, being a big fan of the old Tiger Stadium (yes, I've said I value tradition). Well, my first trip to Comerica told me that they can do something right. These guys spent two years going to every major and minor league stadium in the country (not just baseball) and seeing what all the rest did right. Well, they put it all in one nice, neat little package. The box seats (two to four in a box only... and railed off again) have lounge chairs and tables in them.... there are places to have picnics and still see the game... it's all open air... you can even stand next to the life sized bronze statues of Ty Cobb or Al Kaline and watch the game from center field. It feels like an old style ball park, but with all the additions of a modern one. Of course, no roof.
Which is something that's pissing me off about Ford Field (where the Lions will be playing next year). The put a damn retractable roof on the thing. Bitches. If the big house (U of M's football stadium for those not familure with the term) hasn't shown that you can sell out 115,000 seats outdoors for every game... then nobody will ever learn it. LET IT RAIN.... LET IT SNOW... IT'S F'ING FOOTBALL!!
Sorry, had to get that out of my system. Ford Field is being built right next to Comerica. Now, if only we had some teams that could play there... maybe the Wings will want to move... heh.
oh, and Brain... if you really want impressive... they got grass to grow inside the Silverdome for the World Cup back when it was here.... and that dome doesn't retract. (good thing that MSU is an agraculture school)

ace: maybe you can get your head out you YOUR ass and realize that just because miller park isn't pacbell, i doesn't mean that it blows ass each has it's merits, but i'm too busy watching the all star game to debate them with you
grifter: i agree, that was quite impressive with the grass in the stadium, and yes football should be played OUTDOORS
lambeau field is another example that you can fill an outdoor stadium. hell some of our fans don't even wear shirts

The difference is that the Wolverines are perennial contenders, and well...the Lions aren't. Heh, musta been a tough year for all you Detroit fans (In all sports except Hockey). Detroit would be worthless without the Red Wings.
