I just uploaded the US TAC MOD, as of 8:45 AM, for those for you so maniacal that you somehow managed to try to DL it in the time between 2:30am (when I updated the page) and 8:45 am, well I see I'm not the only zombie out here! It looks like fileplanet is having trouble (of course), since I couldn't DL any of my other mods either. Should be up soon, so keep tryin'!!
make sure you play the credits!

Fileplanet is down! I am having to use the FTP to get it. Oh well FTP is faster anyway.

yeah, I pulled the old zip file and the beta off the server, Fileplanet is up now and the DL is working. Got get it! As for a Mac conversion, I have to get in touch with Mauti, he's in the Austrian military right now so his schedule is tighter.

I'll throw in my (limited) knowledge here - as far as I know, the patch hasn't made a difference to converting mods - it's not a difficult process, but can take some time. There's a thread about it (with instructions) in the Mod section of the Forum.

What can I say.  Great job. The sounds. The textures.
DTD guys rock. :O
But then, you knew that.

(Inspired me to start playing all the levels over again just for the sheer hell of it)

I did a quick (and rough) conversion last night for the Mac - which runs perfectly - except for the lack of any sound effects for the explosions or grenades - but that's most likely due to something I've done - but otherwise it looks - and sounds -great.

Quick instructions for conversion (How I do it)

1. download exe.
2. Open and extract in Virtual PC
3. Copy to Mac
4. Strip out all Line feeds from text, mission, kit and the rommel.cxp file in textures
5. Take away all .wav endings in same files
6. Use SoundApp or similar to convert .wavs in sound folder to system sounds

and that's it. At least, that's how I do it.

Sorry, Toon - but I don't know where to upload it, and lacking the explosions sounds probably isn't great - Mauti will doubtless do a great conversion when he has time.

Something else I've noticed is that (at least in my conversion) the Taurus 450 t Long Colt pistol doesn't make a firing noise - and I think it's an error in the .wpn file, as it doesn't have sound listed...could someone else check this?

Thanks

Toby
