The worse part about Tom Clancy's games atleast for me is that he has a fetish with Russians.I am tired of shooting my fellow country men. How bout going against some Swiss terrorists

I'll try to divert the thread back to the title by asking...
Does Ghost recon use the same gay file system as RS and R6. As in, does it use 14,000files that are a bitch to install? or could it be more like Q3 and use 20 or so files in the package

Or better yet, use a file system like Dungeon Siege, where (from what I understand) everything is contained within one big file called a TANK. (Gas Powered Games, TANK, get it? Hehe.)

Well, in relation to nothing in particular, last night I went to Champions on Ice at the local arena and afterword went around to where they were signing autographs and the Russian skaters were as friendly as can be, I got Irina Slutskaya, Alexei Yagudin, and Evgeni Plushenko's autographs (along with the big three female US skaters and two more).  So to tie it in, Yes, Tom Clancy needs to lay off the Russians, lets just do the politically correct thing and kill Muslims.

Well, my PC version has 7,852 in the Ghost Recon file. Don't know what the Mac version will look like, though.

A blast from the past...

« Reply #32 on: July 08, 2002, 10:47:40 am »

Ghost Recon is based off of the Army's Land Warrior system...

There is a map, but it isnt placed like the one in RS...you have to press another key to access it.

There are "sensors" but they are packaged with the weaker guns like the MP5 and the MP5-SD. Contrary to RS, these guns suck major nut unless the host mods them.

No C4 in the main options, but there is C4 in the Gunslinger 4 realism mod (GRM4) and the Navy SEALs 2.0 mod. But the alternative to C4 in the main game is Claymore mines...those suckers pack a punch. Also, grenade launchers are just about standard with the rifleman's weapons, and the demo expert carries Anti-Tank rockets.

Any other questions?

Well... when all else fails... send an e-mail!  So far, the only company that hasn't ever answered is Ubisoft.... bastards.

Anyway, I wrote Aspyr a note asking them about both Ghost Recon and RS3... wondering about their plans especially since MacSoft already admitted that they are out of the picture....

this is the response I got:

Hi Michael,

Unfortunately we really are not at liberty to talk about any rumor until any
official announcement is made if at all.  If you are interested in the
direction we are going project-wise, I suggest keeping an eye out on our
website and monthly newsletter and looking for us at MWNY.

What does this mean...?  I'll bet it's true, based upon the fact that they didn't just say no.  They also mentioned MWNY, which was one thought of when they'd make this sort of announcement.

It's just my feelings, I could be reading too much into a standard "we don't kiss and tell" letter.

That sounds like a veiled affirmative. If they weren't doing anything with those licenses, they'd more likely say that they didn't own those licenses, or that they had no plans to pursue those licenses in the near future, or something like that. "I can neither confirm nor deny that" in contract-speak usually means "Yeah, it's true, but I'm not at liberty to say that." At least in my experience.

camo changes according to the map, not the host's choice...this leads to a problem as there are a high rate of TK's if the IFF is turned off. But if IFF is turned on, friendlies are lit up by blue test with their name.

Sniper equipment is da bomb. Silenced, single shot with power, etc. You can sit in the corner of a map, lie down ont he floor, and pick off targets...especially in "Siege" and "Hamburger Hill" modes. Knowing you guys from gameranger, you will love those two mods as it deals with defending and attacking bases.
