There's that Sound Studio by Freeverse but that is rather expensive.

It might be good for recording lectures when I get into college.

*cough* He asked for freeware, AHP and SS are not. Wink

For simple recording I'd recommend getting a QuickTime Pro license, cheap and worth buying. It doesn't only unlock its recording features but also lots of others nice functions.

smega balls, sorry i didn't spot that bit weak heh.

Yeah, or have a browse through the 'Audio section of the Apple downloads website, i've often come across little handy apps on there for the best possible £££ ... free! Smiley

But i think like civic said QTPro might be a good answer!

I already own QT Pro and had no clue it recorded sound.

Although, what I want to do it recprd sound playing through my mac, not from an external source.

For example, a radio stream.. I can't record that with QT Pro, can I?

Nah, I don't think so. For this purpose Audio Hijack would most probably be the best solution, the link's in BFG's post.

Yeah i think audio hijack is your best best mate, i've used it before and it really does do the job - worth having a read but basically yes it will record anythign that your mac is playing - be it sounds from a a game, dvd, internet radio anything... so it will certainly do the radio streams like u want Smiley

There is another app, I've used once in lectures in college, its not bad.  It records into mp3 and can listen to it via iTunes and you can also email the file directly.  Its not bad, I don't tend to use it since I own an Olympus Digital voice recorder purposely made to record lectures.

Anyway, the app I'm referring to is called QuickVoice and it works on Panther and Tiger.  Check it out http://www.quick-voice.com/quickvoice/

Yes, of course, otherwise I wouldn't use it.

Today, I bought the Olympus AS4000 Transcription Kit but I had to go back a version to the older driver for it to work.  On the site it claims that it won't run on Tiger, but it will on Panther.  Well, I tested it on both and they both don't work, unless, I go back to the older driver version, for BOTH Panther and Tiger.  THat's good news for me!! I really didn't want to have to bring my Mac back to Panther, so at least now I can enjoy it on my Tiger OS, and since I experienced both versions of the drivers (new and old), there is hardly any worthy difference.  So until they come out with a driver for Tiger, I will continue to use in on the older driver with Tiger.

BTW, the transcription kit, works great!! frees up my hands so I can now use them where they ought to be....my dick!! Wink nah, seriously though, it cost me $400 CND but worth every penny for sure.

I'll report back for those that may be interested, are there any peeps who want me to report?  otherwise I won't waste my time...
