this is wrong!
Pro has a faster Clock, and I think one more Pipeline!

the the Video RAM has nothing to do with PRO or NOT PRO.

For Mobile: there are only normal 9000 GFX.
they are avaible with 32 and 64 mb RAM.

Its the same like with the 8500
or the 9600PRO u can have them with 64 and 128 MB RAM, Both of the 9600 are PRO, the 8500 was avaible with 32 , 64, and 128. Also the light versions.

What is, in essence, the best graphics card?  I would assume it is the one with the more RAM.

the more ram the better is the Grafix Card.

But the 9600Pro with 64 RAM is better then the 9600 with 128.

this is because of the aritechture of the Cards - PRO has faster Clock
The RAM doesnt make the difference here. RAM is not evrything, for GRFX, its is better to have more, but it is much better to have the better CHIP.

 - In essense the 9000 Pro is better then the 9000 also when it has less RAM.

 - The 9600PRo is also better then the 9600 Also with less Ram.

The Problem is the Laptops never use the Pro versions - not for PC and also not for Mac.

Put it this way, the people who have tho old Macs that run RS really good wont be playing RVS unless they get a comp that is 800mgz or higher.

What about a G4 550mhz dual with a ATI Radeon 128? AA isnt running that good with full graphs...

radeon 9700 pro used to be the best graphics card, and spanked all of nvidia's cards. NVIDIA released their FX ULTRA 5800, and it barely at times beat the 9700 pro. It wasn't until they released the new FX Ultra 5900(256 mb ram), which definitely defeats the 9700. So the best card as of now, is the NVIDIA fx ultra 5900.
