Democratic Candidates: Part II

The Rainbow/PUSH coalition held a debate today apparently in Chicago with all of the candidates. It was aired on CSPAN recently and is again at 12:30 am eastern if you catch this message before then and care to watch. It was pretty typical debate stuff.
Anyway, after watching, I have to say, Howard Dean did impress me. One thing I did disagree with him on is that he said we shouldn't be reducing money for the Pentagon (Defense spending). I think the DoD needs to be given less while Homeland Security and intelligence and such need more.
My second favorite is Gephardt because I think he is perhaps the most able to win against Bush by getting some moderate votes without alienating the farther left like Lieberman might.
I don't really have a strong liking for any others...perhaps the guy from Ohio, Kunich or however you spell it.
I think the major issues need to be revamping the education system with more funding, doing the same with health care, and finally switching from the bigoted discrimination against gays that is currently still in place.

Those new democrats arent getting anywhere, the only people that the ever dumb Bush needs to worry about are the big guys.

I saw them debate in person on Saturday morning in Iowa. Although my views align almost perfectly with Kucinich, I support Dean. Although as a far left liberal, I consider Kucinich to be "one of us", I consider Dean to at least be an ally to liberals even if he has some conservative views. Kerry, Edwards, and Lieberman are horrible nominees. I would gladly vote for any of the others for president if they got the nomination. (except Mosely Braun because she is underqualified). Also watch Wesley Clark - he's liable to declare a candidacy soon.

If any of you have Democratic leanings, don't forget to vote in the MoveOn.org primary tomorrow (Tuesday). It's supposed to be an important indicator and all the presidential candidates are vying heavily for the support of this influential progressive PAC.
