Hi, yes I am about as new as they come, sorry!
It's great to have Mac savy people to work with, so I did my best to do my homework!
I messed around with a few mods (listed below) playing quick Missions starting out in Ghost Recon.
I loaded DTD_IDF and enabled it. I liked it & decided to try a Campaign. I eventually made it all the way through Mission 1 & was very proud of myself but.....
I added my points at the end of the mission & noted that the Mod gave me another specialist (it gave me two when I started). I did not see the GR specialist but figured I got the Mod one instead. I started Mission 2, it was late & I should have known better. I got killed right after the start of Mission 2, just as I dozzzed offfffff. Don't you just hate having a keyboard impression on your forehead!
I could not remember the last time I Quick Saved. I was not exactly sure what to do. As I recall the first thing I did was try to reload from the save file. I ended up back at the very end of Mision 1. I shot the last guy again & got the Mission 2 screen again. I am thinking the problem was I already finished Mission 1. At any rate, when I hit the start Icon for Mission 2 Ghost Recon crashed. I tried reloading the save game several times before it ocured to me that the Campaign screen showed the second mission. I tried starting the second mission several times at that point with the same result. Ghost Recon crashes when I hit the start Icon for Mission 2 either way I do it.
I checked unlocked_heros.xml and unlocked_ missions.xml. I have will_jacobs.atr and m01_caves.mis.
I found a IKE file (below), which indicates some Ghost Recon problems I believe. I am running a G4 Dual 867 Mac with 512 MB of memory and over 60GB of free disk space, GeForce4 MX video card, OS 10.2.4. I tried quitting and restarting Ghost Recon a bunch of times. I pulled the Mod out of the folder and reinserted and selected it in options again. I tried disabling the Mod.
I had problems with the Black Sun and SOTO mods in Campaigns. They ran fine in Quick Missions but the game slowed down to the point that I could do nothing when I tried to start Campaigns. After trying DTD in Quick Missions I decided to try it in the first Campaign. In order to try to repair any old problems I deleted all Ghost Recon missions (Quick & Campaigns) before starting my DDT Mission.
I think I may have caused early problems by pulling Mods out of the Mods folder to try new ones, posibly without deactivating the removed one. It works in EVNova

) As I said above I tried to remedy that by deleting all the old Quick & Campaign Missions.
What I have read indicates that I can put several Mods in my mods folder and select & activate just the one I want to use (option screen). I guess pulling mods in & out of the Mods folder can mess things up.
I am looking for any suggestions about how to get mods to run better. I am not sure what I need to do to repair whatever mess I have made to date and hope I will get some good suggestions.
Since I do not have a bunch of existing mission files maybe I would do better to toss my Campaign file & start over again, I hope it want take me 2-3 hours again to do GR Mission 1 now that I know what to do.
Thanks for your attention!
