Hey fellas,

Well, I don't know about the rest of you, but lately, I've been noticing extra long first loads for Rogue. I tend to host a lot, and usually first longs are real fast on my server, but now not only on my server, but others, first loads are extremely long, and quite annoying. Does anyone know what might be the cause of this; is it the new GR? Well, I was just curious.

i used to have that problem, infact it was so bad that i would be unable to join(or host games)
at that time my mod folder weighed in at 1.5 gig
so what i did was put mods that  i wasnt using in another folder, that helped my load times imennsely

the new gr may be causing a problem as well, but  that should help

Unfragging?... Do you mean rebuilding the desktop?

no, but that might help as well
defragmenting the hard drive is when a program takes the chunks of a file that are scattered around you hard drive and re writes them into one contigous block
unless your drive is seriously fragmented (caused by frequent writing and deleation of many different sized files) would you see any major improvement.
tech tool pro is just one of the many programs that will defragment a hard rdrive

i would suggest that before you defrag, do a fresh install of rogue spear.
just remember to save all your mods, and the users folder and put them in the proper place after you are done with the install (the users folder holds all the key bindings and mp bound keys along with the mission results)

Do this dude, it will DRASTICALY help your load times out.  Go into your mods folder, and trash or move out files that you do not use any more, and if you have one or more arm patches (which I dought) that you dont use, then move them out also.  See, the computer is taking a while to look for the proper files to animate what it needs to in the game, and it needs to look in EVERY folder that you have in your Rogue Spear folder, so that will take a while. Seen it happen tons of times, and happens to me now.  Have fun with it once you clean it out.
