Actually Brain, as scarry as it is, I've actually been playing RS in Classic on this lately.

Somewhere between GR3, 10.1.5, and the extra RAM I added, RS is actually playable under Classic.  Still not quite as smooth as in OS 9, but better then it is on my iBook.

Grift, what kinda specs you got on your computer... cause i got a:
G4 466mhz
768megs ram
geforce 3
and i got semi playable Frame rates in 10.0.4 or whatever. (i guess i should get the dual 1ghz processor upgrade when they come avalible)
i think i will try RS again next time i boot in X.

how much converting would it take to make RS osX native? i mean shit the application is like 4megs. I think its time that they stop making gay games, like suvivor, and concentrate on making the most widly played game on Gameranger os X native.

See that's where all u have been suckered into it.

Gr3 is great in OSX, but more then hlaf the games are classic environment. OSX can suck me until i get MOH.

The lag on GR is fuckin unbearable now, i hafta wait 5 mins to join a room.

Jeb,

First, the stats on this machine... Dual 1GHz G4 with 1.25 Gigs of RAM and a GeForce4 video card (almost as good as it gets with a Mac right now... just a little more RAM... ok, for the next month anyway).

Second, converting RS to OS X native would be next to impossible.  That's a complete change over.  Carbonizing it would be much easier (which is what they did with most games that run on both 9 and X.  Carbon was the easy transition... but doesn't take advantages of much of the OS X API's and features.  And I doubt anyone here could carbonize it.  You'd have to uncompile the source (never a sure thing).... then go make the changes to carbonize it, then recompile it.....  Not easy at all.... and just a bit illegal (seeing as MacSoft or UbiSoft owns the code).  I know that I don't mess around in COCOA or CARBON at all... so I couldn't do it.  I don't know many programers that do program in those environments.  Most of my buddies program in opensource stuff... a little basic and a lot of Java2EE.  

Best to just get in some RTCW and MOHAA and normal RS while waiting for Raven Sheild to make it to a Mac.

I think its awsome so far.  It took me a while to get used to yea, but I like it.  There are a few things that I think sucks about it is the game list.  In the past when I first downloaded it, it showed that I owned the full version of Quake III Arena ( I only wish Tongue), Team Arena, and the demo.  Now that its been updated to play Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, it only shows that I own full Q2A and TA.  Its really weird.  Also, I cant figure out how to get the server lists for games like UT.  Gota go into the game and get it there.  That message thing is pretty cool.  It never bothers me since the only real ppl who know me are in the room I hang out in, and thats only around 7.  All in all, I like it.

i HAVE OS9....so i dont really care......i think osx in the longrun looks cooler,but the layout for gr on os9 is more simple.I mean....the only point of gr is to hang out with ur buds and get in games right?you dont need spiffy looks

Yeah, but 30 day plus uptimes are VERY nice. (I haven't gone much longer, but many of the times I restarted were for software installs so I bet I coulda kept going for a long time.)

On another note.... there was mention that GR3 was going to be a FORCED UPGRADE in the next couple weeks...

So get your bug reports in soon, because GR 2.x is being turned off.
