SOCOM for PS2

is anyone getting SOCOM for PS2?
and i have a question about PS2 going online. will the PS2 have a chat room like GR where you can chat and send PM's? and can we make clans n ps2 online?

The chances of having a chat room for SOCOM is good, but there won't be one common hub fo all games as each is handled seperately by the different publishers.

I personally am not planning to take my PS2 online.  I will be getting the adapter for my GCN though as I review for it.  Personally SOCOM doesn't interest me at all because A.) It is a FPS on a console, B.) Doesn't actually look like that good of a FPS from E3 impressions.  I think FPS and RTS should just stay off of consoles in general.  Consoles are for platforming, adventure games, RPGs and Racing (among others).

SOCOM looks really good, however... get an xbox damn it. when xbox live comes out with halo 2, you guys wont see me on GR for a while..

Bah, the Xbox is rubbish.  Halo 2 will suck for the same reason SOCOM will suck, it is on a console (and thus controller).  FPS were made for mouse and keyboard.  And I don't know about you but Xbox Live sucks as well, I don't want to have to pay to play games online, that is bullshit, either they charge you to get the game or they charge you to play the game, but they shouldn't do both.  I'd be happy to pay an extra $10 for every online game I buy if I didn't have to pay a monthly.

Thankfully the GCN will most likely have free use for any game outside of MMORPGs that don't use the console as the host server.

heheh SK has the micro part right   Xbox blows...hard...and ps2 with a controler?! never....i got me a keybord...and socom is coming out with a head set so we can talk over the game...hehe like roger wilco but no lag
