I'm having a real problem with RS. The game has been running perfectly until I hit MO6 - the Russian dacha mission -and now it crashes whenever I try and launch the level. I can get into it fine from any of the other custom game modes, but in single player it locks up before the briefing, and dumps me back into the finder.

I've re-installed, deleted prior saves (grrr) but still seem to have the same problem.

The Rogue Spear log reads:
R6FILENAME:FindFile could not find file z.m
R6FILENAME:FindFile could not find shell_game_list.rsb
R6FILENAME:FindFile could not find file z.m
Caught unknown exception

My setup:

G3/466
300MB RAM
System 9.0.1
Voodoo5 on 640x480

Does anyone have any ideas? This is REALLY frustrating.

Thanks

Toby

I have the same problem on a variety of missions. Doing a min install rather than the full one seemed to help, but I too am stuck on the dacha mission.

I have g4/533 with nvidia, and I am also having major video problems - mainly to do with screen redraw in the menus - anyone else seeing this?

What fixed it for me was removing the parts of a new character mod that I'd installed directly in the RS folder rather than creating a mod folder for it and putting it in the mods section.

My imac with the voodoo2 has the same problem with the flickering menu (it's lucky I'm not epileptic, that's for sure) but this is a long standing problem with the V2's, dating back to R6.

That's all the help I can be. Sorry.

Yeah i had that problem too, it was the castle level that i could not get into. The way i fixed the problem was to start a branch campaign from the level before that. That seemed to fix all my problems. Hope it works for you!   Angry Sad Smiley Cool
