Is America's Army going to be ported to Mac?

just wondering, but i saw this thingy for blasted PC's about America's Army, whichit was made by the U.S army , and is FREE, will be ported to MAC.

I know this has probably been asked before, but i am late on every thing here, so any news about this game being made for mac?

i do know that the game cost 8million dollars to make...
but why would the army spend the money to convert a game to mac, when the user base would be less than 500.
mb i'm wrong, it could be a great game. i have the disk that was sent to me from the army, all i need is my pc  thats on order (secondary computer)

Well, Mac users pay taxes as well so I'd hope that they wouldn't show favortism.  But I suppose they think we are too rich to consider joining the army...it is a shame to as we are much better shooters than those PC cretins.

Ok...so let me get this straight.....The Army makes a game for 8 million dollars and puts it out on the pc for FREE. Is this game any good?....Or is it some cheapy kiddie sing songy game to get you to join the Army? I mean yes 8 million is a lot to put into a free game...just wondering

i dont understand y u mac users make such a big deal over pc users. pc users could care less about mac users, yet u all just go off and say "they cant shoot" or "they all live in there parents basements" when some of the best rs players r on pcs. its like u guyz r racists or something cuz some1 uses a pc there a bad person. wtf is that?

Lol Hazard it is like a law of nature. Mac user say PCs are bs and vice versa. PS2 against XBOX and GC, PS2 vs PC, VW vs Opel,...

As long as you have fun with the things you have the world is ok but obviously many guys are jealous about what other guys have and that they have fun with it so they try to backbite it.

Anyway, I will shorten what I was previously saying.

Now, why would the governement spend $8 million on a game to then give it away for free?  I mean after Spet 11th didnt the US government put forward a Bill that will cost millions on the Nations new defense war against terrorism?  They have put themselves in debt by aquiring new technologies, etc and they give the game away for FREE!!  Someone has been smoking a little too much reeefer to me.

Also, Pyrex I love your thoughts about how one day our world will once again  be controlled by the MAC world and that we will have shrines all over where we stop and bow our heads in patronage to the MAC.  "Hil-Mac"


And Hazard, Jeb is not saying that PC ppl are BAD, I think wha he means and mb he would agree with me that PC users are just misguided, ignorant souls that were just not given some of the advantages that we fortunate ppl have had, by having us been introduced to such superiro machines

well nomad this game was prolly more then half made by the time sept11 hit so the money was already spent.  If they spent 8million why not port it to MAC?  Stupid army i am not joining until i get my copy damnit!

    Nomad, 8 million dollars is literally a drop in the bucket of America's budget. If I recall correctly, the 2002 American budget is upwards of three trillion dollars.

    Besides which, the $8 million is probably from the Army's recruitment budget, since that's the whole point of America's Army. Giving it away free is a very smart move, I think.

    I'd be surprised if they didn't port it. Porting only costs a few hundred thousand dollars, and it would expose a few million more people to the Army's propaganda.

Stfu hazard. Pc users hate mac users but you only play with Gamespy people.  The Zone ppl is what most of pc critisizm is intended for.  On my part anyway. And im with these people.  It would make sense to port it.  Mac users are way smarter and mroe fit that pc users.

It is a fact that the most creative people in the world use Macs.  Pretty much every form of media (print, video, audio) use Macs.  I'm sure if computers were around in their current form, Albert Einstein would be typing his work into an iBook or something.

As a computer science major, you would actually be better off with a Mac. Most CS guys I know do all or most of their coding in Linux, and your box is way overkill for Linux.
