Yeah Ill pick it up too. I think the game will be fun with some cool features. I dont think it will be the best, but it should do for a while.

It looks interesting and will have the one aspect gr didnt, cqb or at least good urban warfare. Some of the features and character actions should be nice too. There are more aspects I dont like than I do like though. Maybe gameplay will help with that. We shall see.

The no character switching decision still pisses me off more than anything though. Team size being limited to four is also.  |

ya im really looking forward to Armed Assault, will be buying it for sure, should have the same moddability as OFP with updated graphics and some new material and features, its going to be my GR3 as its probbably the closest new game to what gr1 was (with the exception of vbs1  . would be sweet to maby see DTD carry over from gr1 to armed assault. |

Ok, I've been playing FEAR, up to Interval 5 right now. Its cool. Graphics:good (to be playable on my system). Physics:excellent, the environment is highly interactive. AI: Aggressive and smart, will knock stuff over for cover, will just stick weapon from behind cover to fire, call for help etc. The game relies heavily on atmospherics. Music, lighting etc. to build tension. The creepy little girl keeps popping up, and dead bodies drop out of the ceilings to keep you on your toes. Plus there are psychic "attacks" periodically where psychic soldiers try to kill you. Cool effects are when you use HPV rounds (basically big nails) and nail clones to various walls, floors and pieces of furniture.
Story is interesting, along the lines of secret gov't contractors create psychics and clones.
Gameplay is good, basic shooter stuff. Weapons are so-so, imagine a cross between GR & Quake and maybe Half-Life (which is probably the model this game follows). This is not a realistic shooter, everything is full auto rock-n-roll. There is even some limited hand to hand. But I don't like to get my hands dirty. Its so uncivilized.
My biggest peeve is no select fire rate. So far its been pretty fun.

I just finished F.E.A.R. - decent game, AI is nice, be interesting to see if they continue on with the engine. Your take is right on though.

So quiet.  I'm loosin my Chi here fella's. Ive been spendin my free time on Counter Strike Source. =L Been swappin all the models and skins of course, to make it more sexc. Its my first time ever playin CS (since xmiss), was always an RS fan. Ah, also been gettin my hands on ARMA. IDK, i usually only say a word here like every once a year (since like 00') sooo.. Cao. |
