ive got some problems texturing my weapons and wanted to ask if anyone could pls help me out.
on the following picture you see i have the same texture on the side of the wep as on the top. it looks kinda strange or even stupid. how can I get a different texture on the side and on top? or make it look good.

Raven, there are several ways to fix that, the easiest is to finsih the model, then when you are changing the pic from bmp to rsb in photoshop, use your airbrush tool, select the color you want, and airbrush the top of the stock.
A second way, and more difficult, is to apply a texture to the top of the stock. You can do this by using the UnwrapUVW, then selecting edit. You will see the shape of what you traced...ahhh hell...you better get someone else to explain. I dont know the proper names for all the steps you have to take or all the damn buttons in 3d max. I just know how to do it.
