personally, i think all CB's should be played with no mods wahtsoever, anti-cheat or otyherwise. Simply having a mod in at all makes cheating that much easier, unless it does work like you say, in which case i'll have too see it to believe it.

or better, i think a naked lady in a post would attract attention!

you'd get my attention, but you'll probably get the moderators attention, too. and i don't think it would be good attention.

erm... ur missing a point there, if that mod which the host has activated in a game, then the others, all others have 2 have the mod too. And only then those ppl can actually play. Now when u have that mod, u probably know what it does, also, when u have that mod, u have the same cheating powers as the host has. That is the whole point. The problem is, when hosts host games in which they changed their data, which changes our data too, sort of, excet that we don;t know it, and won't notice, coz after the game there is no proof. Ingame, the host can have some abilities, such as better ammo, but I still don;t get why ppl fool into that, or the better gun, coz u have it too then! So, with the question wether u can cheat in RS I don;t mean the standard stuff, like modding guns, coz then we all would 'benefit' from that.

Besides, in a CB, correct me if I'm wrong, it's not tolerated 2 have mods turned on, except when it's agreed. And when u agree with having mods on, it's ur own fault when u lose coz of a cheat, coz u have 2 know ur mods better be4 CBing with 'em.

ok, lemme change that around a bit. It's just as easy to mod no matter what you do. What i remember hearing that the anti-cheat mod did was plug up some of  the holes (e.g. climbing into boxes, etc.)

hmmmmm... No, it's just an exact copy of ur kit, so every1 who wants 2 play needs that exact copy of the original kit. Now, when ppl mod around in the mod itsself, the versions aren't the same anymore, making your mod useless. By that, there is no way ppl can cheat, in these things. And I dunno wether ur box story is true, but I do know that this is a Kit Copy mod. Simple, but effective I think.

Godfather... you have the theory of the anti-cheat mod correct...  it's just all the default files so you know that everyone has the defaults.....

The question is, could the host computer still mod one of those files and the mod still load for everyone?  As far as I know, nobody has tried it yet to see if it really works.  To prove it, you need someone to go change say the number of rounds one gun will hold in the mod.... then host a game... see if the others can still join with the mod they have.  If they can, the anti-cheat mod doesn't do anything.  If they can't... then it works for the most commone cheats.

Hehe, Grift, I got most of the information from u, I knew the most important aspects of the mod, but I didn;t know wether it really was a help in cheating. I guess u don't either  Sad
Some1, let's test it, or some2 test it. I wanna know if this mod really does work, and if it does, perhaps make it a rule in official "DAMN CB's" hehe, Ulti/assasin u better read this  Wink

if you find out that it doesnt work, then you have opened the door for cheating for everyone
now, if you can do a client side mod that does the same thing then we might be in buisness...
But this is all future speculation. we will cross that bridge when we come to it.

I am in support of serverside map mods. Such as Cobra and 101st Map Pack. Gotta admitt that duvalle shit is cool. But I am not in support of weapons mods. When you use those it is too easy, if not cheating itself. God knows what a nade a launcher that goes through walls could do.

server side maps can create unfair starting situations, however (some of the spear maps come to mind)
