How does it feel to be DONKEY PUNCHED?

« on: March 06, 2003, 08:02:55 pm »

 THIS WAS THE FIRST UPDATE

Ghost Recon Update 1.0
This update will update the application to 1.0.1, and changes the internal game version to 1.4 (the current PC version). Using this update allows you to play with PC users also using that version. There are many fixes and changes in this update, please read the Update document that is installed into your game folder.

 BUT WHATS THIS NOW?

Ghost Recon Update 1.0.2 beta
This update requires that you already have the update to version 1.0.1 above. It fixes a few minor bugs that we have received reports on, and also should fix a crash related to hosting games on GameRanger. We are releasing this update as a beta version, to make sure we get adequate testing. If all goes well, this same version will become the final 1.0.2 update.

I'm glad that they addressed the key repeat bug. That one has been annoying the hell out of me since day one.

So i installed, and smoke didn't come pouring out of my computer, im happy to say.  Unfortunately i can't report on the "makes gameranger not crash" promise cause not enough ppl have it yet to join my darn game.  Which brings me to my next point, as usual, u need to have the update to join a host that is running the update.

Other than that, i see no obvious changes, as in user interface etc.

After a few test games on my host, to see if I still crashed, I can say that the patch is working like a charm for me. I haven't joined anybody else's game yet, but I normally crash every game when I join through GR, and I just hosted four in a row with no problems whatsoever.

so if you do this new update you wont be able to play w/ people without  them having too? what about the pc side? that doesnt sound right. it should still keep your version at 1.4. i'm hesitant to do this update if thats the case cause i like to beat pc people at this game. they think there so cool. j/k. just want to be able to play with as many people i can. so dont want to effect that if the new version has that problem.

The Mac Patch doesnt change the Versionnumber of the GAme it still will be 1.4 - it only changes the internal Mac versionumber to 1.0.2 . PC users will still be able to join games.

It solves those problems that PC player never had
