@ SC Wes posts quite a bit at AR15.com in the Industry & AR15 boards and I backtracked into the directory from those pics,he and I have a few emails back and forth, since i am looking into buying an AR, I'm asking hims some questions, he does mainly upper receivers as you can tell he does quite the work..

I'm also trying to get some "special" pictures since he's so handy with a digital camera, rest assured that I will keep you all posted.

Ahh, interesting. Yeah he really does have quite the enviable occupation and an irreplaceable resource for great pics. Good luck on your AR. I'm thinking about buying some addons for my stock DPMS AR, we'll see though. Kinda broke at the moment. Around Christmass I picked up a Romanian SAR-1 AK which I like more than my AR, go figure. It basically is this stock (fixed) on an AK-47 body. It was exactly, to a t, what I was looking for. Unfortuneately I havn't had the opportunity to shoot it yet due to the weather.

I'm not sure where to start with my AR there are so many, it's almost to tough to pick, price vs. reputation, new/used, it's crazy, I do know that when I get it, it won't stay stock for very long..  Grin

If I can get my FFL like I plan, look out for a 10-1/2" CQB nightmare  Wink

I did see a sight that had a 4" upper for an m16, only $999  Shocked

Whisper - You've got a lot more money than I did to buy an AR. I'd love to totally trick mine out, maybe in the future. I do really want a new barrel and an Eotech.

What's required for an FFL? Isn't it like a test and registration and like $250 a year?

Mac - That P90 turned out awesome. Great work! Cobra is truly kingly.  Grin

Q_ARMM was able to find this stuff out:

the rifle belongs to KAC's head of military operations, LTC Dave Lutz (USMC, Retired). Here is what he posted on another forum:

quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rifle History/Parts & Pieces:
Receiver was a special for a T&E "E3" Stoner Carbine we sent to Quantico when the Marine Corps was cosidering replacing aging M16A2 Rifles with modular carbines about 3 years ago. That decision was never made, but in reaction to how well the MWS rifles did, they bought about 40,000 M16A4's (all with M5 RAS's).
The Marine Environment thing was to signify some new protective finishes and coatings, as well as the enhanced bolt, ectractor, etc., of the E3 Stoner Carbine series.
Quantico still has 5 of the uppers (two 14.5 and three 16 mid's). However, this was the only lower so marked.
I am kind of partial to this lower, for obvious reasons, so I use this lower for some of my projects.
Barrel is a Marine Corps SAM heavy 1:7 Krieger, turned and chambered by Frank White at Compass Lake (he made the 113+ Marine Corps SAM barrels currently fieled, and we mount the gas blocks as shown in these pictures).
Gas block is for either a flip front or a fixed replacement "pinned in place." It also has a bayonet lug.
It not being offered as an acessory because it requires the use of tapered pins as do real mil-spec 16's. This requires fixturing usually not available to a gunsmith in order to set the thing plumb.
However, we plan to offer a model with set screws later in the year, but that will not have the bayonet lug.
The Extended Scope Ring Base is something we have been building for the Military for many years. Its call a NADS mount, and was used on military SR-25's provided that type night vision sight. The base obviously does some nice things between large (especially variable) scopes (as shown) and my desire to obtain normal eye-relief and stock weld. It in the new KMC Catalog as P/N: 98617. This base has an integral 300-Meter style Back-Up Iron Sight.
The rings are ours as well, and also from the NADS Mount. They are our Low Profile P/N: 20276.
The stock mod is actually pretty easy if you have a good band saw and are very careful. Basicaly the Vltor replaces the foam wrap of the Ace. It is suprisingly secure and tight as is, even though I have yet to epoxy it to the lower "dog-leg" pipe of the Ace (which I think would be prudent).
The Handguard Panels were done on a mill just to make sure they came out uniform. I like the way they break through the basic "plain-jane" look of boring looking panels. Since I have looked at a million of these (just like standard buttstocks) I am glad that there is such an easy way to "change" the looks."
There is also some ventilation advantage and a minor weight saving. I also milled some with just plain round holes, but these did not look as good as these slotted versions. I also think the way an alternative color can show through made aid in giving the rifle a more camo look. At least they are different.
The Nightforce scope is also working rather well, although it is "big." This 1:7 really likes the 75 and 77 grain pills. Some of my best sub-moa groups were with 75 gr. Hornady TAP Precision.
Next week I'll take her outside and take some natural light photos with dirt and grass backgounds.

This reminds me of the .454 Tromix jackhammer we had in US TAC. For a second I thought this was a .50BMG, but I gather by the magazine size that it's gotta be a .50 pistol round. The barrel diameter looks like a paintball gun!

How about this guy, Walther P22 with Gemtech SD. Of course in game it should be 9mm or better, but its a nice ref.
