Hello everyone! ?

This new bulletin board is great, and one of its features has made me wonder about something. ?You know how in someone's profile, it has a link to open AIM and send that person a message? ?Well, that was an interesting form of link that I had never seen before, and it looks a little like a mailto: link. ?Well, my questions are:
    1. ?In a mailto: link, how do you make it dictate the body of a message as well as the subject?
    2. ?Is there any way to make a link that shows whether or not a person is online on Instant Messenger (kind of like the GameRanger things that show whether you're online)?
    3. ?How do you make those GameRanger things that show whether or not someone is online?

The online thing of GR is a CGI script that asks if an account number is online and when GR responses the user is online it loads another pic. There is no special link for such things it is a script!

How to add a subject in a link:

I knew how to add a subject, but I want to know how to add the body of the message too.

Thanks!  so you add the &body line to it.  That helps.

So do any of you know of a script for AIM like the one for GR?

no no you only put the "&" in to add other things to the mailto: link like body, cc, subject and bcc. if you want to use only one addition, you have to put in a ?. eg:

mailto:blabla@bla.com?body=......   -> this makes only a body. if you want to use others like subject, ..... you have to connect them with a &.

AIM: i dont think that there is a function like for ICQ or GR (who's online)
