Okay, maybe the title was a little over-board, but I have just this very day tried the application called "Pages" included with iWork '05.  Wow.  At first, when I bought iWork '05 with iLife '05, I thought that there was "just another word processor" in the box.  Boy was I wrong.  I needed to create a resume for a friend today and only had limited time to do it in.  I already had a nice resume template made in AppleWorks, so I decided I would just open it with Pages and see what would happen.  OMG.  Seemless integration, ease of use that is out of this world, and the ability to save as a .pdf file...I'm impressed.  I will now be tossing out Microsoft Word, AppleWorks, and for sure that piece of crap word processor known as Word Perfect (yuk!).  Just wish Apple made this software for Windows so I could use it at work like I do AppleWorks.

Peace.

Civic, no grammar check, only spelling.

Personally, I don't need grammar or spell check...I am a perfectionist all on my own.  I've never noticed another program that saves to .pdf though, BFG...it's great for saving a file on my mac, burning it to a cd, and then opening it with Adobe Acrobat Reader when I get to work and put it on my PC.  I know AppleWorks doesn't do it.  And I'm not forking out for the full version of Acrobat just for that.

Anyhow, I am very happy with Pages.

The best .pdf program, is and will always be Acrobat Distiller.

Just save your file to a postscript file, pick your pdf-settings and drop your ps-file onto it.
