What exactly does "best of #" mean?  For example:

* Best of 10 rounds, not including ties?  To win, you must have a plurality of wins, 6 of 10, and lead by 2.
* Best of 10 all rounds, including ties?  If two games are tied, then a possible score of 5-0-2 wins, because the losing team cannot gain a plurality of rounds in their favor nor be within 2 rounds of the winning team.

At what point does the cb end?  I hope this question makes sense.

Another note: Could the rules please specify that a cb be played "best of" an ODD number of games--either 7 or 11?  "Best of 11" would be easier than "best of 10" to work with, IMHO.

T. Collins.

Well "best of" simply means the first who reaches the middle + 1 in wins is the winner. The *DAMN rules also add that you have to lead by 2 wins but that's only additional.

A cb is definitive over when one clan reaches 10. Best of ten is a good best of game because if you split hosts each team host the same number of games.

hmm...I can see T. Collins confusion there.  By what you just said Mauti, ties do not count towards the match.  Say in a best of 7, both teams tie 6 times, how i understand the rule, the next team to win a match would win the CB.  7 rounds have been played, although the 'middle + 1' hasn't been reached.

I think what T. Collins is asking is, do ties count towards to total number of rounds played or not?

"reaches the middle + 1 bin wins is the winner"

Indeed ties can't finish the game. You play as long until you have won (best of series #)/2 + 1 i.e. best of seven: 4 wins; best of 10: 10/2 + 1 = 6 wins, best of 16: 16/2 + 1= 9wins,... and so on. It is like NBA playoffs with the only difference that their can't be ties. Ties can't finish a best of cb but they still get posted.

Hope that explains it better now.

The victory is not to be a target, but to win

Thanks for clearing that up.  I kept wondering why people would say we had won a CB when the score was 5-0-1.  I know that we had the best score after 6 games, but I have always insisted that it was the first to reach 6, while also winning by 2.

Mauti, if you look back towards some of the CB's in the matchlist, you will see where the was confusion for many CB's.  Below are a list of matches that are questionable when it comes to the results.  The majority of the matches look as if they were not completed due to the fact that the members might have though it was the best of 7 or 10 at the of the of the halfway + 1 point.

Huh   BUT, someone needs to look into some of these matches and explain how a clan can win a CB 1:0:0.  This does not make any sense whatsoever.  Also, after reading some of the responses to my post about SoM, it seems that the majority of the matches in which SoM participated, there was some flaw in the scoring.  I did not include any RS or R6 games in the matches I have posted below.

895, 886, 880, 879, 875, 860, 852, 824, 708, 706, 702, 700, 692, 636, 617, 614

Others of you should check these matches out as well.

Well "best of" simply means the first who reaches the middle + 1 in wins is the winner.

I would love to see this in the BL rules.  Oh, and the updated skillpoints rules, I would like to see those in the rules, too.

Now I feel bad for asking too much of you, Mauti.   Tongue
