I installed the DAMN BL Final Map Pack (Complete) and can run it and play the maps, however lots of the textures seem to be missing (e.g. lots of stuff shows up white). I am running OS X (10.4.5) and GR Desert Seige. Do I need to have IT installed for these to work correctly?

thanks for any help

Hi,

no you don't need Island Thunder. Set the tree details to high and see if the problem is gone.

Bye,

Thanks for posting. I set all graphics levels to High and set the buffer to 32 - just to make sure they are all maxed. I have a 1.25Ghz G4 with 1.2Gigs of RAM - so I can't imagine it's a hardware issue. Still saw lots of missing textures even with those settings changed. Lots of surfaces show as just white and some trees look like gray polygons.
Any other suggestions?

Do you have the DBL set as the highest priority in the Mod list? If not, it should have a higher priority than DS.

Actually I think what Jim is decribing is to do with the graphic settings. A few of the maps require the tree graphics to be set on high or at least medium.

Hello again, thanks for the suggestions. Yes, I have all graphics settings put to "High" and the zbuffer at 32. This morning I remembered I had installed one of the "Bernies" mods which had me putting files in place of game files from the original install. Sooo, I decided to reinstall GR and start fresh. However, the missing textures are still there (with DesSeige activated and DBL Final at higher prioriity). Still no luck.  So now, I am wondering if there is an actual game update that I need? I checked and mine is v.1.2.1. Maybe there is an update I should install? If so, does anyone know where I can grab it from real quick?

I am hoping the fix for this will also fix the problem I am having with various mods crashing when they try to load a mission (posted in a separate post).

Thanks again everyone.

by the way, some of the maps are fine - like the Bank and Aztex, but others have practically no textures, like Ice Bunkers, Bunker Park and a few others.

did you re-download the dbl-installer? if not, try that. install over existing installation. tell the results.

www.aspyr.com -> ghost recon -> support for all updates.

just downloaded the maps packs - this time I did the 4 inidividual ones - still no luck. Strange.  Well I appreciate the help, I guess I'll just avoid the bad maps.

Please post your lke.log file inside your GhostRecon folder after you have played a map with almost no textures.

Ahh, cool, didn't realize it had a log I could pick through. Looks like it dies on a lot of files. I am seeing things like this throughout the log:

I just updated GR to 1.4 but also happened to double check and make sure DS was higher priority (lower in list) than the mod - and now the textures work. Sorry for all the time wasting - either I didn't read the part about putting DS higher, or the update to 1.4 helped.

thanks again - now I have to go play a bunch of new missions.    Sniper
