Hey WM you see the wallpapers I got on the page? The one with the MiniCAR? Looks a little darker cause I played with the texture, darkened things. The model appears structurally the same, but I did make 2 adjustments

1.made the scope out of 1 cylinder with glass ends (saves a ton of polygons), looks the same except with the glass.
2. made the barrel/foregrip out of 1 cylinder, same reason. Looks the same, but less poly's where you can't see 'em.

Looks very nice in the game bro, I like yer style. I gave the weapon to one of the leaders that you have to assassinate, he's badass with it, had to do it justice Wink It's also playable of course....

Later,
Coco

hehe, the trick to get the flashlight texture off the front sight is simple, I just cut the light out and moved it to a part of the texture that was empty, and pasted a new front sight from a different texture over the original front sight, eliminating the part that was blocked by the light previously.. Then, like I said, I made a new light out of a cylinder and retextured the model. After that, I ungrouped the model's pieces and moved the textured light to where it should be.

Think about it... remember you can break up (ungroup) the model at any time, even after it's textured, and manipulate the pieces. Each individual piece will retain it's texture indepentent of the others. Sometimes this is the only way, like with models such as the monstrous M-134 minigun from US TAC Grin

Something I also do is make a seperate texture for say, just a light, or a scope. Then make a model of the scope or whatever, texture and save it. Now you can merge it with any gun model scene and add it to any weapon. Saves time, and makes it easy to create variants of a particular weapon, just gotta remember to put the ?scope's texture in the textrue folder of the mod along with the gun's texture. I haven't noticed any performance issues resulting from having several textures on a model.  Wink

I have nopticed that recently with some weapon picks in the UO folder, might have been BT, the G36 has 2 or more textures.

One question, when you have more than one texture on a model such as one for the end of the muzzle, do you use multisub object or detach the face of the end and texture then reattach?

I hear ya bro, the problem is I do understand what your saying but dont understand the process. Im gonna send ya a list of questions one day, when you get everything completed. Ive got like four more models to do for cobra and hes sending the warsawpac to you. Trust me, you will have your hands full fixing textures on this one. I would appreciate any assistance, Im not saitisfied with the bitmaps, most of the ak's arent very clear and I dont know squat about photoshop to clean them up. Later man.

Wish you woulda asked, I got tons of massive AK pics! I usually take tha best pic, make the base model and then make the variant textures from it, pasting in pieces from other pics. I do apologize tho, if I seem to be rattling on. It took me a year to learn what I know, lol. Ask me anytime if u have a question man, I'd rather you ask me and I help ya then go back and tweak it later on! Dunno if Cobra told ya but I was thinking of making all the game text (not the weapon bio's or mission lists, etc)in russkie.. I have some good spetznatz camo's from the web, etc etc.

Damn, I hate I didnt ask about the weapons man, I fugured you and cobra got the pics. I saw the message you sent a while back but didnt catch the fact the pics you were talking about were different than the ones cobra sent. Get with him and if he wants me to work on them, send them.

(still wondering if ya sighted my weapon in correctly, hint)  Grin
Later man, thx for all the help, couldnt do it without ya.
