My Old g4 hosts better than My new G5. I don't know what is going on. When i upload something to some one on the g5 it goes 50k solid but when i host rvs it is warpy for others. When i host on the G4 there is no warping. Any subjestions. Both computers are using DHCP from a router.

If both computers are on a network, why wouldnt you just host from the G4 and connnect and play with the G5? Thats the way I would set it up. I would create a non premium account for the G4 server then use the premium account for your G5 and use that to play the game. Problem solved.

Otherwise, i would dissconnect the router and plug the G5 directly into your modem and see if the warping continues. This would rule out if there is a routing problem and would confirm the problem is with the G5.

Does your G5 have the same amount of RAM as your G4?
If it doesn't, the G5 needs 1 Gig at least if you want to do heavy tasks, like hosting RvS.
When I host on my G5 the processors need extra coollage, because I hear the fans are turnin on and off a lot. So mb it needs to be fed more RAM.

Ok, Voodoo is right, it could be the router. My router stopped responding a few weeks back and I had to plug the cable directly in to my G5, almost no lag occured for Euro ppl in a 10 spot room. Now this weekend I replaced the router with a new one and suddenly more ppl complain about lag.
I?m gonna try solving it by adding an extra network card in my G5, plug the internet cable directly into my G5 and transfer the internet trough my G5 to the router. That way I can still put my other comps online and I?ll have the advantage of a direct connection to my modem.
Someone of the Applestore is looking into wich card I have to get, because the G5 uses PCI-X.

you an also set your other comps up on a frewire network where you conect the g5 to the modem and use it as a webservr through the firewire ports to the other comps. I have documentation on how to do this saved on my comp... pm me if you want it.

What Harvey said has worked for me, but its sorta a nuisance to do and doesn't seem like a very good permanent solution.  You could try it tho...
