I am having problems installing and running Frostbite. First, I do have IT installed. I unzipped frostbite directly into my GhR mods folder. I started GhR and activated Frostbite. In single player I can start a game, choose team and weapons. When it is time to load map and start game, GhR crashes with a type 3 error. In multiplayer, I join a game and just as it begins to download the sever info, I get kicked fromm the game. I have reinstalled Frostbite a couple time and still have the same problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Well you have IT installed but do you also have it activated!?

In the mods options it the mods must appear in the following order:

Desert Siege
Island Thunder
Frostbite

Then everything should work fine.

Bye,

Mauti
ps.: the Island Thunder folder must be named Mp2 so the server recognizes it as IT. Did you have the same troubles joining IT only hosts?

I have a 17' iMac G4, with 768MB of RAM and a 800MHz processor. During online games like Cat & Mouse, the computers frame rate is so slow I can't stand to play the game. I have most of the settings on low, except map texture detail, which is on medium... Any ideas ?

Well I don't understand this because on my iMac 400 I have "fantastic" framerates like never before in GR.

One thing that could help is if you convert all Island Thunder sounds to aif. Other than that I don't know anything.

I have 231MB RAM for GhR and I play with 640*480*16 and everything on medium and get on most maps(blue ghost, ship large, bunkers, slop,...) an average of 20fps so you should get around 40 - 50. Usually on DS and Orig maps I only get 5 - 13fps.

bye,

Mauti

I reinstalled everything GhR, IT, and Frostbite. Now I can at least get single player to work, but with very poor framerate. I still get kicked if I try to join a multiplayer game. I have never had trouble with IT, worked properly from the start. But, I do have some texture problems with IT (white blocks where tree are suppose to be).

Nomad run the IT Mac patch and all those texture problems are history.

I don't have a clue why you can't join. I only experienced on Eights server that nobody could join his FB game. But somehow he solved this problem. May try another host to join but other than that I'm clueless at the moment.

Ok, I have all the patches installed, IT runs perfectly (love what you & the others did), my only problem is when the AG3 series of weapons fire, the sound is a bit odd, staticy, and while firing fully automatic, there is no sound at all.

Odd, no?

I'm enjoying the Frostbite Mod, it's superb! But?

My problem is this:

#1 ? If I deactivate Frostbite (having only DS and IT activated), return to the main menu and then want to go back to the options menu, the game crashes. I had to reinstall everything!

#2 ? Because of my fear of deactivate Frostbite once installed, when I want to play GR, DS or IT my team is still dressed in white Frostbite uniforms, which I find look very stupid if I play a mission in the desert. It doesn't matter if I change the order and place for example IT "over" Frostbite.

What do I do?

Mods must be in the following order at your options menu
(from top to bottom)
Desert Siege
Island Thunder
Frostbite

If a mod crashes and you aren't able to start GR anymore you don't have to reinstall the game just open the modsset.txt and remove all entries except

Code:
// MODS SETTINGS - LIST OF MODS ACTIVE ON THIS SYSTEM
"\mods\mp1"

Then GR should start again without troubles. All in all I think it was an exception that GR crashed after you deactivated Frostbite. If you have a low cpu and slow harddisk it can sometimes need until a mod is deactivated (up to 2 mins).

Hope that helps.

I have the mods in this order:
(from top to bottom)
Desert Siege
Island Thunder
Frostbite

Everything works fine. Except the fact that when I want to play for example DS, my soldiers are dressed in white uniforms, and the round thing that tells me if enemies are nearby has disappeared. I know that it has been removed in Frostbite, but why can't I see it when I play DS and IT? And why are they dressed in their Frostbite clothes?

Then I deactivate Frostbite, and the mods are in this order:
(from top to bottom)
Desert Siege
Island Thunder

I click on the Accept button and return to the Main menu (with it's IT interface). The game crashes when I try to go back to the Options menu again. I can start the game and play, but I can't return to the Options.

I'm on a PowerBook G4, 667 MHz with 512 MB RAM.

Hmm very weird. About the camos - this will be solved with the 1.1 patch which is ready on my side but I have to wait until I get the serial number from Mindvision... And hopefully the patch also solves your other issues.
