Evill announced the release of the PC Gameranger today.  CoD4 is supported if your interested in playing with your GR buddies.

GameRanger available for PC as well as Mac

Hold onto your seats, this could be a wild ride!

GameRanger is now available for PC as well as Mac. This was the number one requested feature in the recent GameRanger survey.

What this means is you can now continue to use GameRanger on Windows in BootCamp, or in a VM such as Parallels or VMware for older games. You don't need to lose contact with your Mac friends just because you've booted into Windows. There are over 500 PC games already supported, so you can expect this to become popular quickly.

This doesn't automatically mean you can play against PC users with your Mac games. Not all games are compatible, and GameRanger can't help that. The GameRanger website lists the ones that are. At the very least, it means you can keep in contact with your PC friends, and GameRanger will be a more lively place as a result. For the games that are compatible, it means you'll find a lot more people to play against, so it will be easier to find a game.

Now go forth and tell your PC friends to check it out!   clapping hands

Well that's because the PC version was never compatible with the Mac version thanks to Ubisoft using a windows only network feature.

I tried to play Ghost Recon with some old buddies the other night. (Tigah, Twist, Bonfire, 80 Proof), and everytime I clicked the join button to enter the game, I would get some activity like I was about to join then it would just stop.

I opened the UDP 16000 port thinking that was it, but nothing.  I could also hear 80 talking immediately after I would click the join button, so I assume the ports are ok.  Either way it was a no go, so I couldn't join up.

How is everyone doing these days?  COD5 is pretty sick BTW.  Reminds me of old GhR when I play in a Hardcore, Search & Destroy Tactical Server.  Lots of single shot weapons.

I have Island Thunder and Desert Seige, so it is not the Mods.  Unless I am running something I shouldn't be.  I will check into it and give it another go.

Cell you might of needed the GRPA v4.1 Mod when you tried to join that GHR room.  Most rooms host that all the time now.  Here's DL link: http://monoman.planetrainbowsix.gamespy.com/grpa_league/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&lid=25&ttitle=

We play CoD4 usually every night on GR if you guys ever want to join sometime.  It seems like more Gameranger people have been getting the game because we had a room with 10 the other night which is good for Gameranger.  We've been playing Search and Destroy.

Nice. I will check it out.  If you guys are playing on a local host for COD4, your more than welcome to join our dedicated 18 man Hardcore Mode S&D server.  We also have tallied stats tracked on our website as well. My clanmates are very friendly, so don't hesitate to join up.
You can find our server information & Ventrilo info on the frontpage of our website:
http://www.attackforcez.com/

If you guys don't use xfire, or can't find the server in the server list - *AFZ* HC S&D - you can launch your game and direct connect through the console. ~  (you can cut and paste this in the console if you like as well)
/connect 66.150.121.39:28960

inteler's or pc'ers use XFIRE and my user name is - cell440

I am going to post this info in your COD4 thread as well.

Angry. WTF.  Huh  I tried installing GR for pc at work and I got a virus.  The IT guy said it was from a game called Star Force, which I never heard of.  Anyone know if GR installs something like that?

Scared the crap out of me so I unistalled all my games before the IT guy got there.
