That was the codensed version....here is the full story:

Women can now be fighter pilots, helicopter pilots, Military Police, and many other jobs where they may end up in combat.  Female MPs took and returned fire in 1989 during the Panama Invasion when Panamanian forces tried to attack Howard AFB.  Female helicopter pilots were shot down during the Gulf War and one was even taken as a POW.  Today, women are in many jobs where they can end up in combat.  But so far, women are still not allowed into close-combat units like:  Infantry, Special Forces (SEALS, Rangers, Combat Controllers, Pararescue, etc), or Armor Units.

This is why Females are not allowed.

It is a common sniper trick to shoot out someones legs, so they can't move and they call out to their squad. It is a psychological reaction of men to get out there and help out, no matter what reason is against it. Same goes with kids. Thats why its men only in those MOS's.

Actually, one of the alleged components of SFOD-D is the humourously called "Funny Platoon". Allegedly, it consists of only women, being the only part of the U.S. special operations community that accepts them. It is alleged that the unit's members are intended to be deployed alone rather than in groups, since there are some locales where women would arouse less suspicion than men. For this reason, the tactics of its members are said to emphasize the use of disguises and concealable small arms. Understandably, it is not known whether any members of the "Funny Platoon" have been involved in SFOD-D operations to date.

That concept makes sense and has been used by the intelligence agencies all over the world for many many years now.

Thanks Silenced!  Grin I have heard of that type of female operator. And technically, DELTA doesn't exist so it's not surprising that few have heard of them. The Israeli's have been doing this for a long long time.

There are no women ghost or spooks who ever said there were are wrong. There are women CIA OPs and maybe a few sniper QUALIFIED female navy marine or army. I know of many women serving as tankers in an all female Marine tanker unit out of Cherry Point I belive. I have been to Bragg and heard the stories about "funny" sorry folks women in SFOD thats still a NO-GO.

Bottom line is, unless you ARE one, nobody here really knows. But anything advantageous in warfare is going to be looked into, maybe in a small way but still the obvious conclusion exists. Like I said before, Israeli's have been doing it forever, and everybody knows that a lot of the world's CT units look to the IDF. CIA uses females in this capacity, also NSA, DIA, etc.

Yes, you may have been to Fort Bragg ; But were you with the D-Boys on that base ? I highly doubt it, so nobody can prove if women are with them or not...

He might not be able to prove it, but I know for sure.  I am a former U.S. Army Ranger who has trained with DELTA.  I also still have friends in DELTA, the Rangers, and other Army Special Forces Units.  There are no women in DELTA.  There are no women in any Special Forces unit (in a combat role) in the United States Military.

ghost sniper is correct, but i believe women are being used in DELTA, just not in the capacity that some might think. i presently work in special ops and we do have women in our unit. i will not get into the way that we conduct our business, but i will give my opinion on this subject. combat is combat, i faced it in iraq and let me tell you....it does not matter what the fuck gender you are or your unit. special forces soldiers are human just like anyone else and they get killed just like everyone else, and the same applies to women in combat. the women serving in iraq are not behind the front lines, because IRAQ is the front lines!!!! they get shot and killed just like the men, whether they are cooks, admin specialists, or truck drivers. women belong in support units, because it is designed to facilitate them. it would be a disaster for line infantry companies or special forces teams to include women, because of the distractions that would come about with having females in your unit. i've served in infantry and support units, you don't want your infantry units to be like support units with females. people do not realize how big of a problem with mixing males and females in the military is. you don't see the drama that comes from females getting pregnant while in a combat zone (the unit suffers, because the soldier is lost for the war) or accusations of rape that is thrown around in some support units. you never had to deal with the gossip of "who is doing who" and all the other crap. this is not a question of women being able to run fast or wear a rucksack. this is about human nature and the way that men and women will conduct themselves when having to live with one another for long periods of time in close proximity. some soldiers are going to have sex (consensual) with one another and some will over step their bounds, but the mission will still get accomplished, because a support units mission is different from a direct combat unit. you can't afford to lose soldiers because of pregnancy in a direct combat unit. you don't want your "killers" to be more worried about Cpl. Janes' tits (which is right in front of him), instead of blowing away some towel heads! the fact is that we are still human beings and we act like it, in war or at peace. you would have to be a fool to believe that discipline will keep most of your soldiers in line, so that they won't have sex with one another, totally unrealistic! woman should not be in combat units, because of the problems that come with it (notice that i did not say potential). that is not a knock on women in the military, because i love and respect them. it is reality and our combat forces need to always be men only for these reasons. the mission of the combat infantryman is to kill the enemy and the men need to be completely focused on this mission. combat units can only get weaker, not stronger (in the unit cohesion department, which is most important) by including women in the ranks.
