This is my first time ever attempting to do this so i need all the help i can get...Wink

I used this:http://www.planetrainbowsix.com/dtd/ret_tutorial.htm for everthing up until the part where you have to edit the reticle_sr.rsb file.  Firstly i cannot get that to convert to pict so i've been trying to use the reticle_sr.rsb from other mods which may be my problem but i didn't think so.  Second, when and if i do get another sniper rifle ret converted and opened in photoshop i cannot see the alpha channel.  I see RGB, Red, Green, and Blue but no alpha.

Any suggestions on how to get this to work?

I'm a bit comfused, are you using the .rsb plugin for Photoshop, that should allow you to see all the channels without converting the image.Huh

Okay, if you are talking about Ghost Recon .rsb's then the .rsb plugin is available on the GR/DS & IT CD, browse the CD, I believe it is in the extras folder, then place it into your Photoshop/Plug Ins/File Formats folder.

Hope that helps..

Hmm....i only have 2 things on my cd: Install Ghost Recon and Installer Data.  I found a converter on some other site but do you think it would be too outdated for Photoshop CS?

Also, I put the plug-in in the plug-in folder -> file format folder but i'm not sure how to get it working.  It still does not recognize the .RSB file format.

Here is the latest plugin from Island Thunder
http://www.ghostrecon.net/upload/rsb.8bi
you can place it either in the Plugin Folder or Plugin/File Formats I have done both. Restart Photoshop after doign this -

Otherwise I'm missing something and one of the other fine members here can help you out.

Good Luck

There's nohing else to do really, besides dropping that pugin into the plugins folder. Once that's done, Photoshop should open the files without trouble. The ret files will look like black and white boxes when opened, you will need to go to channels to see the different channels, and the ret is drawn on the alpha channel.
You are using Mac crrect? There may be a different step I am missing. If that's the case, best to contact Mauti on the *DAMN boards.

I realize that but if i cannot see the alpha channel than i cannot select it.  I'll have to fool around with it some more.
