I do not understand everything I know about Unlocked Heroes.

I see: unlocked_heroes.xml, unlocked_heroes+.xml and d_unlocked_heroes.xml in my Ghost Recon (GR) Data file. I am trying to figure out if these files are used by Mods as well as the basic Ghost Recon software or if the Mods maintain their own hero/specialist file or if the Mods just alter the GR characters or what... Maybe each mod handles hero/specialists differently.

One mod I have says that x,y,z...... GR characters must be enabled for their "Specialists" to function. Can I or should I manually enable specific characters to enable mods to function as designed? One mod Black Sun appears to have its own Heroes file. I believe it says to put it in the GR file to enable thier heroes, which I tried to do with no observable results.

I sure would like to hear about anything anyone has to say that might explain how these hero/specialist files work, especially in relation to mods.
