the new *DBL rules season X are online and can be downloaded from the link menu above.

In 8 hours our 10th season season is starting, so what changed for season X?

First when you download the rules all changes are highlighted red so you easily can track down all changes yourself. Next to the complete *DBL rules we have added a *DBL Quick Guide. The quick guide contains all game settings and the most important specific rules. We think this will help you and your clan members to find the right settings faster, however it doesn't replace the complete rule book.

A new kit update for the *DBL map pack 2.55 must be installed by all hosts. It removes the Tac Nuke gun from normal games, and further the MMI from FFA games. It can be downloaded here.

All ladders that use sheep in one way or another have now a sheep limit. After very constructive discussions with the community we came to the following solution: the maximum sheep bet limit depends on the number of players. - It is your players * 8 for GhR team, BF, and CoD, and your players * 10 for both RvS ladders. The only exception is the CQB ladder, because there all cbs are only 2vs2 you have a bet limit of 20 sheep for the first 8 cbs and then a 50 sheep bet limit.
Last but not least all ladders have a 20sheep bet limit in the last week of the main season.

The fun ladders now feature a new system: the Fatten Your Sheep System. A mixture between the ELO and the Sheep System. You still gamble for sheep, but the sheep decide how many percent you get from the ELO skill points. You can find a detailed explanation in the *DBL rules. Further we hope to finish our Fatten Your Sheep calculator soon so you can enter test cbs yourself and see how much different sheep bets affects your Sheep Fat Value.

The FFA System has been changed as well. We took your critic that the system used in season 8 and 9 depends too much on the number of cbs you played. As a consequence we have modified the ELO system to work in FFA cbs, which is more skill orientated than the old one. A detailed explanation and some examples can be found in the *DBL rules.

The next thing for FFA we changed is the player limit. Now also 3 player FFA's are allowed!

For Ghost Recon we also have used your forum input, and limited the map selection to mulitplayer maps only. At all the same maps as in the GhR 2vs2 CQB ladder can be used.

For RvS FFA games now the lowest ranked player chooses the map contrary to the host in season IX.

About the clan ladders:

At the team ladders you can now play each clan 8 times compared to 6 times in season IX.

Ties won't decide any cbs anymore. You now always have to reach a certain number of wins. 5 wins for the GhR team ladder, 4 wins for the CQB ladder.

We have a new Ghost Recon team ladder player minimum: 3vs3! We decided to change this limit because 2vs2 can be played in the CQB ladder. So from now on all GhR team ladder cbs must be at least 3vs3.

We officially now support Athena Sword for the Raven Shield Team ladder and have also added a new RvS AS fun ladder using the popular capture your enemy game type.

BF1942 has now rules and is no longer a test ladder. The new BF1942 Demo ladder also uses the BF1942 rules. Further for BF1942 and the BF Demo ladder we have added the possibility of clan coalitions. Read more about this feature in the *DBL rules.

we have just decided to also add a BF1942 Demo ladder.

The rules aren't complete yet, but should be done very soon, due the recent decisions a lot of small things need to be added.

Oh btw registration is open now. Just go to your clan managment and select the ladders where you would like to participate at season X

Season X starts on monday, 31st january 2005. Registration period will be from coming monday, 24th january 2005 and end 3 weeks after the season has begun. I suggest everyone to register as soon as possible. Further please notice that all your clanmembers that will play in a cb, have to sign up at the BL page and need to be added to your clan in time.

The SuperFinal dates:

Ghost Recon Team Finals: 2nd and 3rd april.
Raven Shield Team Finals: 9th and 10th april.

For season X we are also introducing a new ladder: the RvS Athena Sword Capture the Enemy ladder.

All changes and new rules we be uploaded on sunday night.

preparations for season X are already running at full speed. Please check the BL Forums and leave your input if you want to see some certain things changed, modified.

General we gonna post from now on, each day a few topics, where we present some possible solutions the admins have worked out, you leave your input, we get it back to the admin section then and make the final decision including the communities input.

Hi,

the Hall of Fame page has been updated. Also the last standings of season 9 and the *DBL tournament brackets have been added.

About season X: as already posted in the main news season X will probably start at the end of january.

At the moment we are putting all constructive critics together and gonna discuss out a preeliminary plan, in a few points we gonna involve you directly in other things like minor rule rewordings, etc. we won't.
