The first week of season X is almost over. Time for a short round up, isn't it.

First I'm really surprised about the cb activity going on. While I post this 170cbs, clans and FFA, have been played. That's an incredible number. Almost whenever I log on GameRanger I see some cbs going on. I even dared myself to participate in a few FFAs, we gonna talk about the success of this experiment later, hehe.

Well the GhR Team and CQB, and the RvS Team ladder have the most clan based activity. I'm a bit disappointed that I haven't seen any BF1942 and BF Demo cbs happen yet and only a few Raven Shield Capture the Enemy cbs. Well the season just started and if you would like to do a Battlefield 1942 cb week together with *DAMN and other clans let us know here please. We would organise a capable *DAMN BF server for a week and due the special BF cb setup everyone could cb in form of clan coalition cbs.

In the GhR Team ladder cO and Po are currently fighting for the top position. The CQB ladder is very close together, the 3 top clans, namely z][t, [a] and Po, keep their sheep fat and healthy. The other clans are still in striking distance and who knows who will have the fattest sheep at the end of the coming week.

RvS: dr. had a sensational start and is leading with a huge amount of sheep. They even bet the unbeaten top RvS clan MP5 from season IX, but I bet 50sheep that clans like TF6, MOD and Core won't let them go that easily.

The animals, BTs, DAf and MP5 dared a Athena Sword Capture the Enemy cb, and I hope to see some more action going on in the upcoming week.

For all clans that have lost a lot sheep and are running in danger that their sheep die a painful devastation death, you can also bet only 1 sheep and may some clan will offer you 5 in return, because don't forget bets don't need to be equal.

We just made the FFA submission script much more easier. Now you only have to scroll through the huge player list for the first round. Myst this has been made especially for you.

Well the RvS FFA ladder is dominated by one player - FRISBEE, yes all CAPS LOCK. Since I met him the first time in a RvS game I immediately knew that this is a top player, and he has to disappoint me yet.

Contrary the GhR FFA ladder, there we see a head to head combat for the lead. GhostSniper has to defeat his position very hard against Twist, Eight and Cell, and another 10 players that always surround GhostSniper. At all it is a very emotional up and down and it is a long stony road until the end of the season.

ps: I have changed the ELO constant for the Fatten Your Sheep System because it was too low for the FyS System. It was raised from 50 to 100.The gaps and some rankings have slightly changed. The reason for this was that we always round comma digits up and due the small values it could happen that there is no difference between 5 and 10 sheep.

i'm doing some maintenance on the FFA submission screen, so new battles can't be submitted for the moment. I'll inform you when you can submit them again.

UPDATE: The FFA submission system is now operational again!

today, Mauti mentioned to me that there were some bugs left in the FFA scoring system, and in the process of fixing my errors I stumbled upon some even bigger ones. Truth be told, when I wrote the part of the script which calculates the points you get and lose, I haven't had much time, so I did kinda sloppy work.

Ok, enough excuses, I know that you'll understand me.

If you look at the FFA ladders today, it may be that you see big differences in your scores. This is because of my errors, but be assured that your performance is now correctly shown, and that the points are correctly calculated as stated in the BL rules.

I hope you are all fine. I would like to talk with you about the scoring because I have the impression that some of you get it a bit wrong. You don't have to fight always the top top players to get up. It's always enough to keep in your skill range, let's say 3 - 4 clans/players ranked below and above you, e.g. players in the 900point region.

You get more than enough points if battle equal clans/players. Of course you are free and also encouraged to play higher ranked clans/players, but to go up you don't have to, that's my point and I think a few of you think so.

The system works the way that whenever you battle equal clans, the best of this group go up to the next "level", and so on. You work your way up by being always the best of the clans that surround you. Of course you can go up faster if you beat the top 5 but there is also the risk that you just lose and go down more and more.

Hope I helped a few of you to understand it better. So just also host some FFA cbs or invite other new clans for a cb. May even email them and set a day to cb.

It seems I forgot to post this decision by the *DBL admins in our last meeting. In the rules you will find the paragraph:

	Members of registered clans may participate in a CB, but these members must be registered with the clan, approved by the clan leader, and have done so for at least one week before they can CB.

For the moment we have deactivated this rule in the script so all your members can play out of the registration. Until further notice you can do so.
