It has come to my attention that there has been a great influx of newbies on gameranger. I have no problem with this, in fact, I welcome it. Unfortunately these newbies (and too many of the vets) do not follow all the unwritten rules for Rainbow 6. To avoid confusion, I’m going to write these rules down. It seems that CSL is the most commonly played map, and also the one in which the most rules apply, so the following is specific to CSL, though almost every rule also applies to other maps.
So please, adhere to the following...
(The farther down on the list, the more severe the punishment for breaking the rule. An asterix by the rule means that offenders of this rule may be tk’d)
- Do not gold-door. The other team cannot use their door, so neither should you use yours.
- Do not climb into the boxes in the basement. It lengthens the game unnecessarily, and it’s fairly stupid to begin with.
- Do not ladder rape. Sometimes it’s a necessity, but usually not. If you do, apologize.
- Keep your sense of humor. If you make excuses about lag, etc, the host is libel to boot you, no matter how warrented your complaint. Remember, it’s a game.
* When sniping, look around and see if anyone is preparing to snipe out the window nearest them, if so, do not immediately rush over and stand in front of them, thus stealing their window. They are able to snipe the quickest, at a better angle, therefore it is more advantageous for everyone to let them do the sniping. If they decide to rush, then anyone else can snipe.
* Do not camp in your base. Sniping is fine, but you should snipe and get out, rather than snipe and crouch behind the stairs. In fact, don’t camp at all, it’s cheap, and it’s stupid. A good player will prefire your ass anyway.
* Do not snipe if you are the host. This includes sniping from both the bases and from the window that you need to climb the ladder to reach.
* Do not blue-door. If you didn’t realize already that there is a bug in the game when you stand in the blue door, well, then you are an idiot.
* Do not use any other texture, map, etc. bugs to your advantage. I have heard of other CSL cheats not to be mentioned here, and these, of course, are also off limits.
* Do not throw grenades from the windows early in the game. The most annoying thing is to be either tk'ed while rushing or wounded by some idiot up in the windows chucking grenades as if the enemy were upon them.
* For the love of all things holy, do not fall down the stairs. It blocks everyone, and slows your team tremendously.
*** Use common sense. That hunk of cells in your skull has a purpose you know.
