Title: Quoting with Quick Reply
Post by: spike on July 26, 2005, 04:11:17 pm
I use the quick reply function for most of my posts, except the ones that I need to quote someone else. When I press quote, it doesn't get into the quick reply box at the bottom of the page. It just opens a small white box in the upper left corner of my screen and then closes it. Not a major thing, just a minor pet peeve.

Indeed it has been sort of broken for awhile... Probably Mauti will have to update the forum software to 1.0.5 or 1.1Beta3.

Works for me actually - I'm doing it right now or have been in my recent posts.

I'm using Firefox - don't know if that makes a difference.

Doesn't seem to work in Safari, though, tried it right now. I'm sure they fixed it in one of the more recent releases/updates for SMF which Mauti didn't install yet.

Which will take all of 5 minutes since it can be done through the Administration Center.

...I will be annoying till it gets done ;)

There ya go - only if you go into the Administration Center - right underneath the header it will be like "There is a new version that fixes some bugs and can be automatically installed here" and if you click on it it will install for you.

No unfortunaly it isn't that easy, because I have installed a few add ons, that required manual hardcoding which will be overwritten when I update. So just updating would only require a few minutes, readding and setting up all currently used add ons a few hours...

However now that I'm back in europe I'm going to do it sooner or later.

Bye,

Mauti

I don't know why yours would be different from the :MoD: forum which I updated just like that - It's SMF 1.0.5 now.

He manually added some add-ons which the automatic updater would overwrite, as Mauti said. That's why he can't "just" do it. Read his post, damnit! ;)

It seems it is a problem with Safari. Even after the update it doesn't work.

Bye,

Mauti

AS said that's not hard, it's just a pain in the ass if you have hardcoded something into the forum, like some mods that don't work through the package manager.
