Title: Help a Newbie.GR Servers only on Gameranger?
Post by: The Muzak Man on July 21, 2003, 03:55:31 pm
Im new to GR online (usally a Urban Terror player).  Is the only way on a Mac is to see servers through Gameranger?  I dont seem to get a Server list in GR itself. Now gameranger rocks but most servers created are OS and not downunder which means I only have the choice of ridiculous ping times. (ADSL / Cable soon)
Cant I at least see all GR servers locally (I canwith Gameranger/Urban Terror). Ive searched the forums and couldnt find anything related to this post so please bare with me.

Is this a PC server compatible Issue?

Is their some IP Address/Site  anyone could recommend Locally?

Appreciated your help.

Matt

Muzak...you need to add ip's to the server list in the ghost recon server list. A good place to find pc dedicated servers is www.ghostrecon.net (http://www.ghostrecon.net). Scroll down to the bottom right and you will find an iframe with about 100 ips. Go through them and add the ones u like to your server list in ghost recon. Most pc dedicated server will be running Island Thunder so make sure that it is in ur mods folder. If you dont have it you can buy the pc version of Island Thunder and there is a tutorial on *DAMN on how to convert it to run on your mac. Or mabe you have a pc friend that can help you in coverting it as you will need access to a pc or virtual pc. Hope this helped.

Ghost Recon doesn't have a built-in tracker nor any kind of master server like UT and Quake III do. So the only way to join non-GR games is to do as Voods suggested and find lists of server IPs, on GhostRecon.net and elsewhere.
