Title: Season XIV wish list
Post by: *DAMN Mauti on May 31, 2006, 11:17:39 pm
Hi,

with the *DBL 2.0 being 4 - 4 1/2 month away, there is time for a last and final season in the *DBL 1.0.

We can't offer a scheduled season as we did last season, especially due summer vacations it doesn't make much sense.

However we would like to hear your wishes about ladders, gamemodes, etc. for the last season, before we start into a new *DBL world!?

Last but not least the admins and I think about a modus that the best and most active clans of the advanced ladders qualify for a *DBL 2.0 kickoff tournament, so you have enough motivation to kick some butt ;-) What do you think!?

Voice your opinion and wishes!

Bye,

Mauti

PUNiSHER's wishlist

-All CB's must be 4 players or more per team.

-Get rid of the CQB ladder.

-All team CB's must be played with the "snipers only" kit restriction.

-Weedwacker's clan ends up in last place again.

-Someone gets a claymore kill during a CB to win a game for their team.

-Keep cb's lowest number to 3vs3
-Play the cqb's with "subbmachine guns only" restriction..

- I wish for a server in Game Ranger w/o any lag.
- Minimum number of players for a CB to take place be 4 vs 4
- That No Clan Abandon half way through the season.... and all clans play all their corresponding CBs
- That BTs, ZT and all those great clans of the past play the Ghost Recon Ladder once again.....
 ;D

Ok... My turn...  This is all for GhR Adv

1) I like Puns idea for Snipers only kit  (the one with sniper and Mp5)

2) 4 vs 4 Minimum

3) No more scheduling.  That really sucked ass.  Esp when you show up to all your CBs and win and later loose them all cause another clan forfeited from ladder... Resulting in a wasted weekend.

4) Forfeiting from ladder = 2.5 warning points.

5)  Evill fix GR please.

6)  No sensors.

7)  Cell has to use the Bat, Rock, or Chicken kit.

I like the idea someone talked about in the past where each teammate in a clan battle has to take a certain kit.  So there would be:
-A sensor guy (doesn't matter which sensor kit as long as it has sensors)
-A GL or rocket guy (any kit with a GL or Rocket launcher)
-A hand nade guy (Any kit that has hand nades)
-Sniper (Any sniper kit that "doesn't" have hand nades)

It cuts down on the nade spam people always hate because you only have one GL per team, of course clans could always cheat and take 2 sensor guys or something so always save the replay to check it.  You could adjust the *DBL WZ mission so that the game wouln't start until the specified kits are chosen.

To make it more managable.. how about this:  One rifleman, One Demo, Two Snipers  ... or something like that...  so that it prevents complications (i.e figuring out that the other team actually had 2 people with nades ,or something or another,  in the middle of a CB).

note:  i know the sniper kit has nades also, but you get my drift... i hope.

I'll add a fifth vote for this one... 3v3's have never made any sense to me, you lose much of the tactical aspect.

I see no other .s:. members posting here so I will. I wish Evill would fix gameranger. Mac gaming is just about dead because of him, congratulations Evill.
Oh and might as well make cb limit up to 4v4 since Clay doesn't want it!

That's six votes now for 4v4's (if Luna counts accurately).

KK...I'm a NY italian...I am very familiar with the bat kit.  Is the chicken cooked or not.  Just want to know if I get into a camping match with someone from {E} i will have something to eat.

Better yet I will hit you over the head with the bat.....(loot your gear) celebrate by smoking the rock, then eat some chicken.

Sincerely,
Tyrone

It's hard already for Euro clans to get 3vs3 cb's, well, 4vs4 might get completly impossible.

The chicken is slowly roasting over the coals as {E} sips on a cold tequila sunrise.  The cooking smoke drifts over the map and Cell starts to drool.  Dammit man that smells good, c'mon in.

Wish list:
Evill fixes GR.
DBL starts bulletin board type game finder for IP join.
No GL or sensors (sigh).
4 vs 4 minimum is more fun, but I suspect it'll make it even harder to get games going.

Yeah GSR  hahahah.  Damn it man!  I bet you guys don't realize how fat those sheep we stole off you 3 seasons ago are.  I'll be roasting up one of them bitches.

then we have some clans (a euro clan as I recall) who have 6 guys on and just want to 3v3 because they other team doesn't want to... let's meet in the middle ;D 4v4

And I recall of an American clan willing to play 4vs4 with gameranger lagging like hell .. Yeah I remember that too.

4 vs 4 should be the minimum!

PUNiSHER's wishlist

- New boyfriend  ::bussi::
- Mommy stops making him wear diapers to school
- Reach puberty
- Weedwacker's clan ends up in last place again.

4v4 is fine with no CQB
Teams must be comprised of 1 Rifleman, 2 Demo, and 1 Sniper

BTW, ~W~ ended up next to last.

I posted this under another topic but I'll place it here too.

I think the hall of fame page should list the members of the clan that won each season/finals, you already have a link on there to a screenshot of the final standings, why not take a screenshot of the clan's member page for that season too and put it there?
This past season would be a great time to start doing this, I'm sure someone could take a screenshot of ~Po~'s and :V:'s member page and then link to it on the Hall of Fame page.  It's like getting your name on the Stanley Cup.

Saying goodbye to the scheduled CB system is a shame.
It worked perfect, just a shame organisation is missing in some of the clans out there, elske it would be the perfect future for the *DBL.

is *DBL gonna be like all the previous cb's? - to be on the whole night trying to find a cb, and u end up with an answer "i have to go, my mother is mad at me"

- I don't hope so, if the Scheduled system aint gonna be used, i certainly hope *DBL can come up with something else..

Gaming activity from *DBL is missed too, i think it would be better if we actually have admins who play the games.. theres only weak and mesa who actually plays on GR..
(Sorry if i missed someone).. / Red Tigah Lynx (Edit).

- Euro admin... we only have LYNX.. ofcourse we have our good old man BFG.. but you know him, he is busy running after girls..  :D
So Catching up an Admin (Euro times) is hard sometimes!

Hope some fresh new blood will come for the next season.

Still looking forward for next season

Stripes

@ The schedule system isn't history yet. The way it works needs just to be adjusted: schedules will be more done with a challenge system that is built into the new *DBL and for season XIV we may add a forum based challenge system.

So there will be no scheduled satursday anymore. That's true, but you can challenge your opponent.

challenging and scheduling out of the WE is cool !!

4v4 is a dream

maybe a 3v3 with (one riffleman, one sniper, one demo)

Alright as you can see the challenge system will be added for next season and will replace the weekend schedules.

For season XIV we probably keep the 3vs3 as default number of players. However you can agree in you challenges to make it a bigger one, or we may use Tiro' suggestion:

Quote
OK, I'll give you that for an unscheduled system, 4 vs 4 may be difficult for some clans. I'm not sure what the plans are for next season, but if it's at all like last season, where we had both scheduled and unscheduled CBs, then we could try to implemented the Scheduled CBs at a minimum of 4 vs 4 and leave the unscheduled CBs at a minimum of 3 vs 3.... A Salomonic decision!

There will probably no CQB ladder for GhR. The RvS one gonna stay.

About the different kits: I think it is very interesting, but to control this one could be a little bit difficult for season XIV. However as posted here: you don't need to save always the replay. Just check your missionstat.htm and you can see everyone's selected kit. Well it will be discussed. However I think in a 4vs4 all kits should be used, including that one has to carry a support kit.

Has the *DBL thought about using Monoman's "Stat Tracker" app during the season to keep track of the overall season stats???  All you have to do is have the person who's hosting turn the app on each time a CB takes place.  Obviously lag test kills will have to be counted unless you shutdown the room after the lagtests and then turn the app on.  Monoman could then make a special page where the season stats are uploaded to.

I Don't think that the support gun should really be enforced, one reason for this is that GhR is fairly laggy at the moment so we don't really want to try to make it worse.

I posted this under another topic and I'm placing it here too because I think it belongs here in response to the new 8 man roster rule:

The *DBL should make the regular season more interesting and fun, have 2 Team ladders for Ghr.  Ghr ADV [A] and Ghr ADV it would be more like 2 different divisions that can still CB each other, clans can then pick a different team of [4-5] players to play on each division.  The Ghr Superfinals are than played between the top clan of the [A] ladder and the top clan of the ladder.  There would be no 4 clan superfinals weekend anymore.  You have the 2 regular season winners of [A] and face off for the league title, thus making the regular season more important because you must win your division to be in the *DBL Finals.
And then to make it more interesting and fun, if your clan wins the ladder during the season you can merge with your [A] team that didn't win on the other ladder for the Super Finals CB.  It's a team based system where you have 1 clan with 2 teams trying to win one of the divisions.   Larger clans then will not be forced to cut players and not use them.

i like the idea. i would do it a little different tho: not two ladders, just one. but if a clan is big enough for 2 teams, let them register with two teams (im not sure tho if this isnt allowed now).

Well, I'm against the kit stuff for cb's.
My point is that Snipers and lag don't mix, and lag is a complete inferno nowadays...
I mean, with a 240 ping (ping of a euro player playing on a us server, or of a us player playing on a euro server ) you get almost a one second delay. This delay makes snipers completely impossible on that kind of games. Moreover, the host will have a huge advantage because it's way easier to snipe someone when you are the host.
I don't know, I mean, on the one hand this idea is cool somehow, cause it would bring something new, of course, but on the other hand it would make lag a bigger drawback..

The Euro/US ping stinks but a 240 ping = 240ms or a quarter of a second...almost playable.  Lag is something a little different and nowadays is associated with GameRanger being a POS.

I swear, Weed, Sniping someone who keeps running in all directions when you lag like hell is really hard... It's a drawback to consider, anyway.
Moreover, I sometimes have way more than 240ms of delay on a 240 ping server, can sometimes be one second, or so.
