Title: Having serious color problems...
Post by: Revenant on February 08, 2001, 01:08:15 am
Hi everyone, just wanted to let you know GREAT WORK on these modsl, they rule and you are the best! However, I am having quite a serious problem...

I can't see my crosshair! It has a huge black pixel in fornt of it that is nasty looking and ugly :(  On top of that, the blood when I shoot someone looks all weird and is m ore like recoloring of the textures. Lightbulbs are flat graphics, and the player skins look bizaare with colorless goggles.

Please I need assistance on this one, because all of thsi happened only after I installed all of your NEW mods (meaning Not NMM gunworks or WWII anything). I cant track the actual cuplrity because I installed them all at the same time (stupid me).

Anywayz, does anybody have anythign which could help? Do I have to do another install? (boohhooo I sincerely hope not, I beat every mission in the game :()

Thank you for reading this far

Hi Revenant,

the best way is to uninstall all mods again. I mean to deactivate them all again. Then everything should work right because none of the mods overwrites important files RS loads only the files of the mod folder first instead of the original one so deactivate one mod after the other and hope that it gets better. So you don't have to do a reinstall. Let me know if it worked or not please.

Bye,

Mauti

About to fix your target reticule:

Locate a folder named rainbow6 data2 / textures ON YOUR R6 CD (Installer pieces) and there get the file -reticuleCenter.RSB-
copy that back into your r6 data2/textures folder on your harddisk and u have back the old target reticule.

about the other things do as mauti said.
good luck

I guess he is talking about Rogue Spear and not Rainbow Six. So there are more than only one crosshair.

Title: Tried that already...

I already tried deactivating all mods, but still I have weird glitches. Oh yeah, I am talking about Rogue Spear, not Rainbow Six. My reticule is stsill pretty screwed up, and I the enemy models still get weird coloration. I tried taking out all the mods out of the "mods" folder (save Urban Ops of course) but still no go. I also made thingsd worse accidentally :(...

I tried taking out the r6_color table in the "data" folder, as well as the languages.dir file. Now I cant read a thing it says! Arrrghhh, stupid on my behalf.
One interesting thing to note, one a few of the mods, I am not sure exactly which ones, told me to overwrite some files in my data folder. I am not sure which oines (sorry I can't help much) but my computer said they were newer versions so i replaced them. I think they were in the texture folder, so it definietly might have contributed to something. Any ideas?

Thank you again for your help.

As I tried to convert TTT2 mod today my Rogue Spear suddenly screwed up. Not only Rogue Spear I couldn't play any other games. Arg I was pissed of. And you can guess what the fault was!???

Instead of saving the plan into the plan folder it
overwrote my boundkey.txt . Isn't that weird. I couldn't believe my eyes as I opened the boundkey.txt were all your multiplayer gocodes are saved. After removing the file everything was ok again. Check your boundkey.txt in your Rogue Spear Data directory.
