Title: Mod Reviews
Post by: Bondo on June 09, 2001, 03:50:06 pm
As the head of the Mod Review department I am just saying hello to all of you mod writers and users. ?To get your mod reviewed, please e-mail me and request it, otherwise it won't, there are by far too many mods for me to review them all so this is the only way I can logically go about doing things.

For one-player add-ons or any other offline mods, contact me, *DAMN Bondo.

For mods that require hosting (R6 or RSD only), contact LoudNotes.

You can email me too as subordinate working-class grunt of the modreview department  ;) ;D

However I only review R6 and RS demo mods.

Hi Bondo,

I would like to see a TTT2 (RS) review. Well this Temporary Tango Mod is ?the only mod that let you play as tangos. BTW Bondo and Loud I give you moderator functions in this Modforum so you can delete the review requests when you have done the review or if someone posts something that relates to another part you can move the thread!

In order to make this mod review site even better we will need 1-2 more writers.  Specifically people who play a lot of RS.  Modman can't play RS as he doesn't own it and I can't because it barely runs for whatever reason so we are looking for good RS players who can host to write reviews.

Well, I'd be happy to do some reviews, and I have RS although I have NO knowledge of HTML...what do I need to do to audition?
Toby

All you need is to be able to play the mods and write a descriptive analysis of the mod.  All you need is a word processor to type it in, then send me the review when you are done.

hey I'd be happy to do it!
I don't have r6 but I have rs so I can review those mods.
for example i have recently played TTT(the temporary tango)
and I can review that. My spelling and grammar are rather good.
Also I currently lack any sort of life whatsoever, so I have plenty of time to review!

Hi guys,

great to see that you all want to join the modreview staff and yeah you are all welcomed no matter if your grammar is good or not. I am working on the new website and then you will get direct access to the new review section where you can direct post your review and pics.

Bye,

Mauti - I come back to you when the website is done!

I'm currently finishing up a short review on the *DAMN map pack, with much better grammar then that of my previous post(s). Just wanted to let everyone know so they don't get half-way through a review only to have mine be finished and hopefully posted in the reviews section. :)

Ok...I'm going to make a statement for the mod review staff....subject to Mauti's and Bondo's approval of course.

Since there is apparently quite a lot of interest in reviewing, anybody may write a freelance review and submit it to me, Bondo, or Mauti (once the cgi script is up and working, presumably you would only need to send it to me or Bondo for approval)

Bondo and I will remain the only permanent staff however.

That idea sound good to everyone?

I don't think that you  two should be the one and only staff. If one is really interested to make reviews he should join the staff! Well maybe for the beginning he starts with a freelance review of his favourite mod.

Thanks for all the interest in becoming slaves to the system..err..modreviewers.  For now this is how I'd like to approach this.  Anyone can write a review and send it to me or Loudnotes, we will just check it for typos and such and then pass it on to Mauti to put it on the site.

Here is the list of people who have shown interest so far:
CIA Romulus and Black Sheep
Blackhand
RSA FaSsSt.qc
Tony Rushton

I would like to write a few mod reviews. I have created several mods, and I know what to look for. I can write impartial reviews, and I would like to think that my grammar is a little above par. I have written several in-depth mod tutorials, and if I can write one of those, then I can definatly do a review. Let me know if you would like me to join the team. 8)

Yeah Grave that would be outstanding if you would like to write some reviews for us. The review site will go online tomorrow and then it should be easy for everyone to post a review without anyknowledge of HTML! BTW then I will also find someone who reviews the Bootcamp map!
