Title: Dj Gear Post by: th.Sentinel on June 01, 2005, 10:50:55 pm I'm looking into buying a new cd-player and I wanted to ask Harvey's opinion on it, but I haven't seen him much lately. So I was wondering if someone else has some experience with one of the following cd-players.
Max. I want to spend on it is around 1000€ - Pioneer CMX 3000 (http://store1.yimg.com/I/topdjgear_1845_696243) - Pioneer CDJ 800 (http://store1.yimg.com/I/topdjgear_1845_531226) - Numark CDN 90 (http://store1.yimg.com/I/topdjgear_1847_33451614) - Numark CDN 95 (http://store1.yimg.com/I/topdjgear_1843_9927428) - American Audio DCD-Pro1000 (http://store1.yimg.com/I/topdjgear_1847_9242030) - American Audio Velocity (http://store1.yimg.com/I/topdjgear_1847_11660241) Or any other suggestions? hey sent Well I would suggest the Numark CDX or Denon DN-S5000 is you want to use them like turntables. If not and you want dual deck player i would suggest the Numark CDN-88 or the CDN-90 or 95.. The Denon DN-D9000 is realy good too. The best set up I would suggest (sence you have a set of Turntables already would be Numark CDX (single player table top cd players with a moterised scratch surface... http://www.numark.com/products/product_view.php?v=overview&n=101 so you will need 2 of them) and a denon DNX-1500 (http://www.denondj.com/prodview_item.asp?pid=9&cid=3) mixer but you can also use the http://www.denondj.com/prodview_item.asp?pid=2&cid=1 cd player (i have 2 of these myself.. but the numark is more like using a Turn table) here is the dn-d9000 http://www.denondj.com/prodview_item.asp?pid=5&cid=1 and the numark cdn-88 http://www.numark.com/products/product_view.php?v=overview&n=32 and cdn-90 http://www.numark.com/products/product_view.php?v=overview&n=31 and the 95 http://www.numark.com/products/product_view.php?v=overview&n=119 DO NOT GO WITH THE AMERICAN AUDIO.. they will not hold up over time as for the pioneers.. I would not go anything less then a CDJ-1000 The reason I would sugest this mixer is b/c you can have all 4 devices hooked up and assign 2 channels to each side of the crossfader (that means you can assign up to 4 channels to the crossfader) now the best for your money would be the Numark CDN-88.. I have been using one of these for 4 years now and it works flawlessly (the 90 and 95 I have not used but if they hold up like the 88 then they would be good too.. but I would still sugest going with single table top cdplayer like the numark cdx or the denon dn-s5000 due to the fact that if one of the cd players messes up.. you will still have one cd player that works while the other one is in the shop.. and you can always rent one till it gets fixed) If you need anymore info...... just ask Title: Re: Dj Gear Post by: th.Sentinel on June 03, 2005, 12:16:38 pm Tnx all I needed to know ::applause::
Going to my dealer tomorrow to see what he can sell me for a good price. Title: Re: Dj Gear Post by: cO.Vickedson on June 03, 2005, 10:15:47 pm The industry standard.....I'd go with this and nothing else. Perfect compliment if you have existing 1200's.
Pioneer cdj-1000 Title: Re: Dj Gear Post by: BTs_Lee.Harvey on June 04, 2005, 10:04:28 am yes its is the industry standard.. but from using all of what I have sugested in the past.. I can say that the numark CDX and the Denon DN-S5000 are much better if you are used to using turntables already.. and they cost alot less then the cdj1000.. now if you realy want to go with something realy cool.. try the new pioneer DVD players that are just like the CDJ1000 but allow you to work Music videos on DVD (along with regualr cd audio) just like you can work a cd on the CDJ1000 (oir the numark or the denon for that matter)
http://www.pssl.com/bitemdetail.tpl?waGroup1datarq=pioneer&eqint_KeyIDdata=37458&UID=2005060401045284&newproduct=T&itemNumber=DVJ-X1%2001 I know a club that is running 2 of these already.. but they are a little on the pricey side for me... Title: Re: Dj Gear Post by: th.Sentinel on June 04, 2005, 12:07:43 pm Well I ordered the Pioneeer CMX 3000 today, cause Numarkparts are hard to get in Belgium. My dealer told me he had to wait 8 weeks once for a replacement part. So he said it was better to buy Denon or Pioneer cause they ship in the next 24 hrs.
Title: Re: Dj Gear Post by: BTs_Lee.Harvey on June 05, 2005, 09:47:44 am well In that case I would have gone with the denon (I went with them over pioneers) but pioneers are good too.
