the story... one day zom@r was playing in a r6 game when all of a sudden to retards with names of rainbow six spelled oddly (one of which: 21962) . well they were big tkers and were cussing every five seconds. mostly then were giving me crap. so i blocked them naturaly. well later in several games 21962 IP joins under my name Zom@r. as i tryed to convince the host i was tthe real zomar he just repeates what i say / name changing. finaly after miss boots and rejoining for half an hour to both of us . he leaves. this continued into many other games. i say we should all block 21962 Title: Re: BEWARE OF 21962 Post by: SiGmA_X on July 17, 2001, 06:10:27 pm ty Zom@r! there is currently a problem with this TKing shit!

mind explaining Zom@r? Title: Re: BEWARE OF 21962 Post by: Grifter on July 17, 2001, 08:58:29 pm Zomar,
Regardless of your conversation with the pleeb... I can't stand this crap. I've seen way too many assholes pretending to be someone they aren't on GR lately.... trying to trash other people's rep's. I'm for just banning these createns from our games... they obviously are not worth talking to (especially after reading your transcript). I for one will just ignore / ban 2192 from my GR account. This just pisses me off! Title: Re: BEWARE OF 21962 Post by: Zomar on July 17, 2001, 10:06:00 pm loud he mainly said. i dont give a (&*@#(* what you think ill just try to wreak you. and i just contered every statement he made lol
Title: Re: BEWARE OF 21962 Post by: [SAC] S K I P P Y on July 18, 2001, 01:00:37 am Zom@r,
I went through the same shit recently, you just have to ignore them. This guy was really fucking me up, and a few members in my clan. There was actually 2 of them working together, I didn't trip on it though. They stopped and got bored, and perhaps grew up a little. Tell people about it, and believe me it will go away. I have a member in my clan, (no names) and all he does is police people and actually has a file of Id's, names, name changes, IP's and such over the last year, and now it's a huge data base.lol This is possibly the best thing you can do. We know of a couple of people who like to change names, and replace people in Clan battle's even...Cheap Cheap Anyway if you want to know exactly who's doing what in GameRanger start writing down the Id numbers and use your so called illegal Ip Logger to just ping someone and right down the IP #. You don't have to use it as an illegal tool all the time. heh... I will look this guy up for you and see if we have him on file ;D Skippy Title: Re: BEWARE OF 21962 Post by: Grifter on July 18, 2001, 06:35:31 am Skippy,
keeping a log of their ID's is a good idea. I've scribbled down a few since the last time I had to reset my GR prefs and lost the few dumbass that were on my ignore list. As for just ignoring them..... in the sense of the GR ignore option, I agree (which ban's them from your hosted games and messaging you). But borrowing somone's identity to trash their rep is wrong, just plain wrong.... I watched a couple guys do this to SWAT Matt, ICE Gladiator, CON Spanks and a few other guys that I don't know in one evening (in a game I was in no less). I remarked about this in a different thread. So I also advocate taking more proactive actions (i.e. when I see a well known member calling out a pretender wannabe, I'll take his word and ignore him as well). These guys are probably some lonely kids, that feel bad because they suck and have no friends (sounds like Peekay). I don't want to debate them, I just want to make sure they aren't effective in their efforts to cause havock with some clan members. Think about it, someone going into games with your name... tk'ing, being abusive, acting like a child... sure, people that know you aren't going to believe it's you.... but how many others out there wouldn't know it wasn't. Great way to get along and have fun gamming (required sarcasm for Loudnotes... heh) Title: Re: BEWARE OF 21962 Post by: *DAMN Postal Worker on July 18, 2001, 09:24:59 am Well, Alright then...I suppose I shall block this particular character. Not like he'd do anything to me anyway. I'm not too well known on GR. lol
Title: Re: BEWARE OF 21962 Post by: jn.wrath on July 18, 2001, 10:34:05 am Heh.. I know the guy, account ID 21962, he used to be stalking me.
Now we're on friendly terms... Zomar, it isn't illegal to use ICMP Logger. Title: Re: BEWARE OF 21962 Post by: Zomar on July 18, 2001, 12:35:22 pm I know that wrath. i just wanted to scare him. you are not suppose to use that stuff though since it is considered a hacking tool. :D
Title: Re: BEWARE OF 21962 Post by: SiX_Mr.Buffy on July 18, 2001, 12:55:15 pm While we are on the topic of fucking lamers, I may as well post one up. I am posting this one up because it involves SiX....if I were to post all the other lamers I know of, then well, I'm too lazy to do so. If you do a find on (SiX) you will notice that account ID 54199 is (SiX) Adun. That is not the real Adun, the real Adun does not own a mac anymore, for sure, and even if he did, the location is all wrong.

I just know a few things, and have other ideas. The only way I know to truely block someone from entering your game is to use the password function built into RS (not GR). Now, if they are using a static IP (or, if you don't care that they will get past this very quickly) you can use ICMP logger to get their IP address (usually, this doesn't work with some peoples computer, like when they tell netbarrier to not allow it) and simply ban that IP address for a day in your firewall. If you want to do it right, just use the RS password feature. It's a small pain, but you'll get the exact result you want. Title: Re: BEWARE OF 21962 Post by: jn.loudnotes on July 29, 2001, 12:26:08 pm actually, there's an even easier way to completely prevent IP joiners....
In your r6 or rs options, just change your "join" port to something other than the default 2346. If people don't know your new port, they won't be able to to join! ..but that's really annoying.... Title: Re: BEWARE OF 21962 Post by: jn.blackhand on July 29, 2001, 12:53:23 pm Grift: A few quick questions.
Wouldn't using a password block everyone from joining except those who knew the password? How on Earth would you host a game and get people to join? If you message a bunch of people first and get them to join, what happens when people start leaving? Though the password function and your idea is nice, it doesn't seem feasible for anything outside of CBs and team practices. Title: Re: BEWARE OF 21962 Post by: Grifter on July 29, 2001, 01:06:16 pm Blackhand,
You've hit on the "pain in the ass" area of the solution. Yeah, you tell people the password, but once the game breaks up, you pretty much have to start over. Or, if just your buddy's know the password that you always use (we have one that all SWAT use) then you'll always be able to join. But you are right. The solution is a pain, so should be used only when someone else is being more of a pain (and won't stay away). Loud.... if you are using GR, won't it tell RS (or R6) what port to use? I know that RS doesn't use 2346 for RS (it uses a higher number). But in effect, Password or changing ports does the same thing (and both through RS, not GR). And both have the same problems. Title: Re: BEWARE OF 21962 Post by: Ace on July 29, 2001, 01:40:01 pm grift, im pretty sure that rs also uses 2346, but i rarely play it so im not 100% sure... as for changin the port in r6, if u r hosting a game from gr, gr will automatically change the port to 2346
personally, i have found that an itchy f12 finger is the most effective way to get unwanted people to leave... even idiots get frustrated quickly after a few kicks rom, the IP finder is called ICMP Logger... go find it on ur own, even u should be capable Title: Re: BEWARE OF 21962 Post by: jn.loudnotes on July 29, 2001, 01:59:49 pm and if you're not, ask someone to email it to you....
I've sent it to several people, as well as so many dumbasses and idiots that I had to write a tutorial for them--- "download stuffit expander" "unstuff file" "open folder" "use program" or something to that effect ;) Title: Re: BEWARE OF 21962 Post by: jn.wrath on July 29, 2001, 04:11:13 pm I have but one question..
