Title: getting movies out of RS Post by: pfc_biohzrd on August 01, 2002, 12:18:33 pm Could someone tell me how to get a movie of gameplay out of RS.
Txs for any help, bio Title: Re: getting movies out of RS Post by: electronicjo on August 01, 2002, 07:16:09 pm It's impossible to convert RS replay files into movies since they only tell RS the data (waypoints, weapons, characters, mods, etc), which then RS uses to run a simulation.
The only possible way I could think of would be if you have some sort of video output on your computer. You can mirror your screen onto a TV, and use a VHS tape. Replay the tape, then download the tape with some sort of video capture app. Or if you have two computers one will be the out and the other in. A digital camcorder might have these capabilities, but I'm not sure. Hope this helps... There's an option to save replays of missions, and there's an option to view replays. Of course, in my experience, neither one of them has ever worked. So does anyone know the magic incantation to say over RS to get replays to work?
Title: Re: getting movies out of RS Post by: [V] Silverblade on August 02, 2002, 11:12:43 am u can save replays in single player missions, not from multiplayer. i think. the way ejo described is they way i would use to make rs movies, although i wouldnt recommend vhs. i have a svideo out on my radeon, so i could hook it up to a dv cam or any other digital recorder, then reimport the whole file and do some after effects to it to make it look nicer. if anybody knows how to get replay files from multiplayer games pls let me know.
