BTW, which day is voting for elections in the US start?  Also, this may sound dumb, but I dont follow politics here in Canada so there is no way I keep informed about the USA, but, whenever I was watching TV and there was something on the news about the elections it was always on Kerry, or the democrats (I think), never on George B., so my question is....Isn't G.W.B. in the running to get re-elected again?

Typhy don't give a stupider response than spike. The fact is that politics isn't the same as Gossip. Politics lead to huge fights and up 'til a few years ago it wasn't a problem but now it's excessive. It needs a separate area.

actually i think the politics talk has kind of molded into a very interesting level headed area of conversation for us. i used to hate it too, because everyone would go die hard on their partys and beliefs, but now i guess everyone kind of knows eachother's politics well enough to know which buttons to push, and which one's to hit very hard. basically, the politics chat has matured.

I wont start a new thread for this, but John Kerry gave the best speech of his career tonight. Dubya's speechwriters will hafta write in short syllables to make him not look like a fucking fool at their convention. If Kerry is half as good at debating as he was at 27, then Dubya is up a shit crick. Between Clinton's, Barack Obama's, Edward's and Kerry's speeches, I'd say it was the best convention in a long time, chalk one up for the Dems.

Couldn't agree more. I was very impressed with Kerry's speech, Bush is going to have to have one hell of an add campaign, or some way to get votes, because when it comes to speeches, and debates, Kerry will make him look like the fool he is.

Myst, this is the General Gossip. You act as if political discussions don't have a place here - that's one of the big things that this forum is for.

You don't have to post in every thread. If you don't have anything to say about the issue, don't post in it. If you don't like political debates, don't read the threads.

On a slightly off topic political note: Is it true that "they"(not sure who) are now medicating george bush? I heard that he went ape shit on some reporter, and so now they medicate them. of course, i havent looked for any corroberation, and so I was just wondering if anyone heard anything.

Typhy you are wrong. These forums were never this heavily political up until 2 years or so ago. You need to realize this isn't set up to be a political forum. It was never intended for all of you to start posting the daily news of sorts. Go take a lesson from MGL, separate the political forums from the general.

General Gossip is about everything game related. Politics aren't game related. I would even go as far as to say GG is also about the community in a limited way.  Politics of America don't fall into the limited community area. It's not hard to create a new board. Resisting will just leave some angry and some happy. Even those who are happy won't mind the moving of where they post. They just want to be difficult like when they are debating bush vs kerry.

Si, it's ok until that new topic has grown to a point where it is taking over. If it's taking over then it should be given it's own realm. There is no point in arguing it because it doesn't matter to you if you post it in a different area. People who ant to read it will still read it, so why resist?
