hey guys.i just want to tell you that me,together with a friend, created a new NoOneLivesForever clan,wich is called -NandO- (it stands for National AND Obvious).
at the moment the clan count only on 3 members:
-NandO- Ebola   ITA
-NandO- wolfram ITA
-NandO- Willard SPA
the spirit of NANDO is the same of *DAMN. humor+smartass people+skill = NANDO (and *DAMN!). we play on PC (:() and the battlefield is GAMESPY. if u own a PC and wanna join us or fight us with your own clan...well....meet us on GS.
you can usually find us online from 2100-2230 and 0400-0600.

Gamespy is one of the best multiplayer applications on the market - and it has a huge fanbase, therefore making it even more advantageous to use.

Typical dumbass ignorance of the facts.. too bad most of the people who diss good things are ignorant Mac users who consider themselves to be the ultimate computer users.

As another example of this, I was talking to Matt about the PC version of Rogue Spear and how stable and fast it is compared to the mac version, and some people who hadn't even used it interrupted and started dissing me AND the PC version of RS because.. well "it's windowz so its crap".

While I love my Mac, I still acknowledge that PCs are currently superior to them in many ways.. and I don't find it a pain to use them.

Wrath: the PC version wasn't always the stable great version you talk about...you are forgetting that they have had the 2.52 update patch for a while. it used to be buggy like our mac version, but never as bad. (first line not directed at Wrath) ?8)

Romulus how can you say that PCs suck when you already have a few high speed pentium machines and four BMWs that use PC architecture in controlling nearly everything about the machines from top engine speed to radio station programming?

Question looking for an answer:  Y post a subject about joing a PC clan in a Mac forum if i bet 90% of the people who belong to this forum use mac's and mac's only... i know if i had a PC i wouldnt be chatting in a Mac Forum or even be using my Mac

Viper, in short, this is the General Bullshit part of the forums here.  In this catagory comes all the bitching, mocking, and anything that just doesn't fit under the more structured areas.  Plus, we are a bunch of rambling psychopaths that just need to rant.  If you try to apply rules to this part of the forums, you are just going to go crazy..... unless you can relat to the minds of people like Ace, Wrathy or myself (or the great OZ, aka Mauti).  In otherwords, read too much, watch way too many movies, post in other languages, and just basically be an Ass (not a dumbass, that's different), and you'll probably start to figure out how (but never why) it works here.

BTW, I have both and use the Mac more.  But to Wrath's point, the bigest advantage that PC's have in my humble opinion, is the quality of the games and testing that goes into them.  Notice that the few games written from scratch for the Mac are usually of much higher quality then those ported over from PC's.  And to take another step up to Wraths other soapbox, that's why we should always pay and never warez our Mac games.  We want quality games, we have to show that there is money for the company in it.

Blackhand, yes i know my family has PC's, but i rarly use them (normally only cuz they are laptops, and can be hiddon away (when grounded)...)... I didn't know what type of base chip the BMW's use, but thank you for telling me, I am sure that it will help me in a arugment with someone some time  ;)

If i had my own decent PC (i am a all-out maccie; no pcs for me personaly) I would be sure as hell using GameSpy for gaming!

I think that there are about 30 PC users on here, being (this is approx) that since GraveDigga, Coco, and Cobra joined, about 50 new members have joined the forums, and many are not GameRanger users (as far as i know) and do not post in the Mac-related sections... Just in the MOD sections...

actually, ive been on both the zone and game spy and i dont like either. game spy has cool designs and stuff but for some reason all the games have 450 ping+. and the zone just plain sucks.

hmmm arnt pc's suppose to have realy fast connections... maybe its the same as in the mhz they put in pcs.. people like big numbers (even if they dont mean anything or are bad [lag])

it doesn't matter if they a 450ms ping. PC games, most notably Half-Life and all related mods, are superb with handling lag, unlike anything on the mac.

the connection speed has nothing to do with the comp being pc or mac; it solely rests on whether you got a slowass 56k that runs at 24.0k like i used to or a super duper cool t3 like i got now

Blacky, iv had a 350ping in on a server for Tactical Ops which is very close to CS, it handled lag very well unlike a 350 ping in a RS game, so mac's can handle lag too

Coming from a guy that has tried to play this game on all kinds of hardware when his G4 was back at apple getting a new CDRW...... I'll add this.

1) All these comments are based off broadband connection.

2) G3/300 with 256 megs RAM and 8 megs Video sucked ass lag even on single player.

3) G3/300 with 256 megs RAM and 32 megs DDR Radion Video lagged only a tiny bit.

4) G3/466 with 320 megs RAM and 8 megs Video (iBook) laged like a bitch, even on single player.

5) G3/733 (overclocked and now melted) with 640 megs RAM and 16 megs Video didn't lag one little bit.

6) G3/733 (before meltdown) with 640 megs RAM and 32 megs DDR RAM Radion Video was had no lag at all, less even then my G4 500 with 1024 megs RAM and 32 megs Video.

Conclusion:
All are factors.  Modem speed, processor and video card all make a difference.  Please note, even with the fastest config's, I still had lag in some laggy games with whores that use the damn SAW while on 56k modems.  They warped all over the freaking place.  Don't underestimate the power of a good video card if you already have any G4 and cable or dsl.  It can make a difference.

Anyone want a used G3 blue and white.. hehe
