Title: Time for some Mac history!!!
Post by: th.Sentinel on March 19, 2004, 04:29:49 pm
Ok, in some other thread I said I was gonna post a pic of the oldest mac i've got at home. Well I finally found a pic on the internet of it, here's the link to my
Apple ||c+ (http://www.theapplemuseum.com/index.php?id=tam&page=personal&subpage=apple2_2cplus&skin=specs).

I'm gonna proof it with some of my own shots, asap.

I'm just wondering now, who else has got an old mac like me?
Post your oldest mac you still got at home in here, with a link to the apple museum and some pics of your own to proof it. Its pure out of curiosity, no award attached ;) like Ghost's 20$ unless he wants to pay the guy who has the oldest mac at home...

And I'm wondering, how much will it be worth again now a days? It still runs fine.

OK guys, now bring the Mac history!

It's not in my house, but I think it's sitting in a closest somewhere in my parents house:

The Apple IIc (http://www.theapplemuseum.com/index.php?id=tam&page=personal&subpage=apple2_2c&skin=specs)

Looks at the kick-ass 1.4Mhz processor.

Many a childhood day was spent playing Lemonade Stand, and Ultima (the first one).  Ah, the good ole days.

Well, those are Apples, not Macs.....I have the oldest Mac....an original 128k Mac that my father bought new in 1984.

Link on Mac History:

I will try to dig the box out of the attic this weekend (it lives in it's original box in my attic) and get some pictures of it to you guys.

I'm gonna keep it til the collector price hits about $20,000, then sell it on eBay.  The going rate on 128k Macs in like-new condition like mine is around $4,000 right now.

Well, GS, you may have to wait awhile, since the current going price on eBay is about $100.  ;)

Guys, that was just listed on eBay TODAY!  I have seen these things go well over $3,000 on eBay in just the last few months.  Now find me a 128k Mac that has been on eBay for 6 or 7 days, and I'll show you that it fetched at least a few grand.

And here is another one just listed on eBay with a starting price of $750 with a BUY NOW price of $1,300.  $1,300 is, by the way, the cheapest I've seen one of these 128k Macs go for.  But the last one I saw like mine.....with all original boxes, packaging, carrying bag, and the Mac wasn't faded to yellow like these....went for over $4,000.  The people that buy these are buying them as collector's items, not to actually use as computers.

Christ that was a long time ago... Always been begging my dad to get a PC but he hates em  ;)

Edit: It could have also been the 512, 512e or the plus...had that shape though
