*DAMN R6 Forum

Hi Guy!

I have a problem and i need your help!
After i nstalled the OS 9.2 my system slowed down extremly!!!! Now R6 is so slow that i cant play it on my Mac, b/c its so slow!
Now i use my new PC to join manual in R6 games! I do this for several weeks now - thats i why im no more on GR! May be some of u wondered!

But i still love it to play with you! So i need your help to get IPs for manual join. Always when im online i use ICQ to get connected to my EUR dudes, and they send me the actual EUR host IP.
So plz, any of u who have ICQ, add me plz to your conntact list and send
me IPs of hosts u join, those of you who can send me all actual IPs of all r6 host i will never forget! :-)

i reinstalled R6 , twice!

But and will reinstall 9.1!
But i like my PC, too. R6 runs so fast on it, and it looks batter on it, so it just an idia, to join manual. But if u dont want- its my prob.

If you wanted, you could just have GR running on your mac and get the IP for yourself.

Good idea Ace, it could be from me, but this is not as easy as it sounds, and it costs much more time then using ICQ.
I'll explain it to u
1) I have only one Monitor, i use my PC and Mac on it.
2) I have no Network connection between Mac and PC
3) I use the same modem on PC and Mac to cennect to internet!

First i have to establish a internet connection then i have to log in into GR , get IP, disconnect  internet connection, then establish internet connection from PC and then use the IP!!! This only works when the host is still there  ;)

The next prob. is that i lost all date after the last OS crash, and i lost the ip cantcher, but u can send it to me i u want  ;)

OK, thats enough!

Here's a couple anwsers to your woes....

1) a KVM switch for your monitor.  There are plent of switches that let you use one monitor (and keyboard/mouse) with multiple computers.  Some are cheap, and some are expensive, so shop around.

2) a network modem.  No lie, I have one in my closet from the days before I had DSL.  it's a modem with an eithernet connection attached.  You plug it into a hub, and all your computers use it to dial out (this assumes that you nave network cards in your computers, which is usually a good bet).  The network modem was pretty cheap (around $20) and a small 10bT 5 port hub is under $15 now (these are US dollars).  If you can't find a network modem, you can have mine (for the price of fedex'ing it over to your ass), since I don't think I'll ever have the need for it again.  If you want the brand name, model #, etc, just let me know.

3) what kind of mac were you running R6 on (with OS 9.2).... things like extra extensions, updated video drivers (a bigger problem then you think) and others could have an effect.  If you have an older mac, with an ATI video card, some of the newer ATI drivers have been known to have adverse effects on some programs.  The website says to go back to the old drivers.  This may save you from reinstalling the OS... since 9.2 does run faster and more solid then 9.1 in most cases.

I know all the solutions and posibilities which i can can use based on hardware, but ty for the tips.

But thing is i dont have the money to shot a lot :), and the most important thing is that i have no more place where to but this new hardware, my room is full off many thing i all need.

And it would be so much easier just to ICQ  8)

Anyway, I'm just here to reminisce for a minute...it occured to me that I have posted 5% of the total posts on the forum.

So I must have the other 5%? Heh... IPMC works great! I love it! I have been playing RogueSpear with you guys for like 2 months (Since banned) and it's just as good as a regular join... But I have 2 Mac's (junker for pinging, iShit for playin) and a eithernex router/swich and a CM.... ah well... it's all good!
